OK now I want a full season of pre time war Mcgann :D

That was amazing, soo happy he got to have at least one more crack at it. Also he looked great btw.

More confirmation, if any were needed, that anyone denying that they're involved with the anniversary can be totally lying through their teeth.

The possibilities are endless!

Let us not get our hopes up, imho. McGann's tweets were already kinda weird in a sense that he did not outright deny his part, just worded it as "was not on set" and "is not in the 50th" etc. People already assumed that he might have some other way to get involved.

Ecclestone, however...as far as I see it, he is redundant to the plot. Wow, I actually feel bad for saying this. If he shows up, it is great, but that is it.

Barrowman, on the other hand...could show up.

lol I'll never totally lose hope of Eccleston popping up, this sucks.

I'm not sure of how Hurt's regeneration will play out though. Didn't he slip something about being involved in the next season? Or am I mixing things up?

I'm not ashamed to admit that I squeed like a Tumblr fan girl when I saw Eight pop up on the screen! That was amazing! Now to watch it about 30 more times. :)

The more I watch this the more I realise how well McGann plays the disgust in himself and the "Let's just do this before I change my mind" aspects when he says "Make me a warrior now"

Does anyone have the name of that track that popped up at the very end? I've heard that during The Impossible Astronaut, and it sounds so awesome.
Apollo 11, it's from the scene where they go to the launch pad at the beginning of Day of the Moon

Guys.

The Eight Doctor asked if his regeneration would hurt.

He promptly regenerated into Hurt.

fuuuuuuuu

Also...
"I'm not in it. I can say that Peter [Davison] isn't because I've seen him recently. And I can tell you that Sylvester [McCoy] isn't, and neither is Paul [McGann]." - Colin Baker.

What else is he lying about?

The whole situation with Barrowman was pretty weird. I don't remember all the details so correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he say he was in talks with the beeb at first, only to suddenly claim he wasn't asked at all? Pretty fishy if you ask me. Tbh I doubt he's in it tho.

I did right then yesterday night for watching the McGann movie for the first time. The movie was rubbish but McGann was absolutely great the little he appears (it even reminded me of Eccleston's acting a bit).
Holy shit HE IS GOOD! What an amazing little episode Moffat has done here. I would love for a McGann season with some adventures.
THE HYPE I HAVE ROLLING THROUGH MY VEINS RIGHT NOW!

All the lies we have been fed, if I see Eccleston in the Day of the Doctor, im going to die.

Best series ever!

And it's McGann's birthday too! And what a present! Happy Birthday McGann!

Wow. That wasn't only fanwanky in the best possible way, it was actually a really well acted/directed/written piece for a 6 minute thing. I mean, within two minutes you knew just how bad the Time War actually was. And the name checking of his companions is so sweet.

Also you could tell McGann loved doing this, he sank back into the role so easily.

I'm wondering how this fits in to the whole 12 regenerations thing though. I wasn't imagining that Moffat said he'd address it somehow right? And now the Doctor died, came back to life, and then 'drank' some new regenerations. Oh wait...potions! Damn you Moffat!

Bit of a Who noob (only got into it this last 2-3 years) so apologies in advance but can the following be clarified for me please?

There are 12 regens allowed, meaning 13 Doctor's total. Now that we know Hurt is actually Doctor 8.5 (well 9 really) that means Matt is Doctor 12. But then didn't Tennant use up a regen during his series meaning there are no regens left? Thus Capaldi is actually No.1 of a new regen cycle or something like that?

Cheers!

Moffat has binned this restriction and, even before then, there were many ways it could have been circumvented.

My 'guess' is this will all be taken care of by the end of the Christmas Special.

We'll see anyway

Moffat essentially states that this is the case in the latest Doctor Who Magazine. How it all resolves itself remains to be seen.

I dont think anyone [with power] gives a shit about the limit frankly.

It baffles me as to why. It's got great story potential, even if it's as simple as "The Doctor is dying of coughing disease and needs to wrestle with whether or not to break with tradition and obtain more regenerations"

Seems to be something along those lines, we will find out soon enough I imagine.

Nonsense, he hasn't binned it, and nor does what the Doctor say in SJA count, Moffat has stated himself that the Doctor can only regenerate 12 times recently and it seems to be something he will be dealing with soon.

Not me though, it doesnt sort anything other than hinders the development of further stories, when they have to address it. I say just give him unlimited generations and be done with it. We all know already it's gonna be more than 13, they are not going to end the series just because of the limit.

It like knowing who the killer is in a movie, before the characters do, which makes the whole experience nothing but tedious.

So great to see McGann(again). Bit disappointed to not get a full regen sequence though, I feel they could have at least cut away further in or indeed shot around the fact that he was regenning into young Hurt. Loved it though, McGann in 7 minutes had bucket loads more charisma than Eccleston did in his entire run. There, I said it...

Funny how the Big Finish companions were mentioned but not Grace and the Asian kid (sorry, don't remember his name at the moment)?

Chang Lee

I thought it was weird too. Though when you think about it, between now and whenever McGann stops doing the audios he could have a whole host of extra companions he forgets to namedrop here! Time is a weird thing.
