For sure. Right now it's just speculation based on what games (if any) the studios have done before. That doesn't mean they can't improve and it also doesn't mean quality is guaranteed.Games are games. We can have an intelligent discussion on whether or not they're going to sell the platform to X demographic or not. We can also have an intelligent discussion on whether or not NeoGAF (arguably "core" gamers) would like them or not, but these are two completely different discussions.
Outright disregarding games that will be available at launch because they don't fit into some nebulous "core" game description is disingenuous at best, and fanboyish at worst. Both MS and Sony are trying to sell their boxes to as many people as possible, to pretend otherwise is foolish.
If someone was a dedicated 24/7 Halo player, then Sony couldn't persuade him to switch to their platform even with 3x as many first-party franchises.
I just wanted to make a point, that despite GAF being made up of individuals with varying preferences, there is a selection bias inherit in the user-base here of which you can derive overall likes and dislikes. And the game of the year popularity contest each year shows that.
You think MS will match the specs of the PS4?The difference is only apparent in your head. You just wish it to be true. Again... There will be tears in 10 days.
