NeoGAF SEPTEMBER 2011 Pick-Up Post! Show Us Your Goods! (Real pics or BAN!)!

I've added more vinyl to my Hydeout Productions collection.

Unfortunately (or also fortunately?) the F.I.L.O. sleeve had the Lady Brown record in it. Worked out ok though, the guy gave me a refund.

And the holy grail for hydeout, I thought I might never be able to find this one.

A printing of only 500 copies was made and to get one you had to be there in person at the Guinness Records 15th anniversary in Shibuya. I'll just say that this cost a not-insignificant amount more than that Persona 3 pachinko machine that someone posted recently. Had to get it off Yahoo Japan auctions.

Picked up a few rare(ish) games to round out the collection—

Unfortunately Snow Brothers had some rental stickers stuck to the front—thus the scratch marks. Now all I need is a $75 copy of Rescue Rangers 2 to complete my Capcom NES collection :/

I uses to salivate over pictures of those in catalogs. Always wanted one along with Teddy Ruxpin and Alf but was too poor.

Are you just gonna wang it on eBay, or have you got a more specialist market in mind?!

I wang(ed) (awesome fucking term by the way) it up on eBay already but if you know a specialty market then by all means, please let me know.

And the Book of the Year (at least in Brazil):

That's Storm of Swords, right? I read the (Dutch) translations of hte first four books, but decided to buy them (and the fifth) in English. Felt I should appreciate a series like this in the language it was first written in.

Cover looks pretty awesome, though.

So unbelievably jelly. I don't care much for the collection, but the collectability of demands respect.

picked up the steelseries shift (cataclysm bundle, regular shfit + cataclysm keyset) from a promotion still going on on their site. $100 normally but 50% off with the code epic50. perfect timing for me since i could totally use some easy access audio ports right about now.

Kenshin (Trust and Betrayal) LE blu ray.

So how's the sound and PQ? Samurai X is my favorite anime and I would love to have it on Blu-Ray if it's a real upgrade from the DVDs I have (the second release, already double dipped!) $65+ is a bit much though, but Bandai Blu-Rays are never cheap anyway.

These actually have an in-line remote and mic and I used my previous pair with my phone. Probably my favorite pair of earbuds with a remote that I've tried out and I was pissed when I lost my old pair.
Cool, thanks. Going to wait for a while to see what 'phones come with the new iPhone, if they're the same ones they do now I'll pick up a pair of these. :)

Thanks to amazon and videogamesplus and their fantastic deals I picked up quite a few games. sure they might not be the best but when they started at $2 I figured who cares. I'm sure I will at least get that much out of them!

Really jealous of that set, I've been collecting them for years which is really tough when you don't want to pay the high eBay prices. Almost found an Omnibot the other day, but it turned out to be just an empty box for sale :(

For those PS3 owners in here, do you guys think that a 60GB PS3 will last me a long time? I plan on downloading a few PSN games here and there. I'll mostly just play the games without downloading. Should it be fine for me?

I'll post my pick ups in my next post, just needed to post that question.

I've had one since launch and 60 GB is plenty of room. Some of the early games had 5 GB installs which you will need to remove once you're done playing them. Right now I have about 10 CDs with music for custom soundtracks and about 20 PSN games installed. That's more than enough for me.

Ah okay, I appreciate your help. Does every game require an install? Does deleting the install delete the game progress?

not every game requires an install.
and deleting that Data does not delete the save data

the save data (of your progress) is saved separately

Game Data tab
Save Data tab

if i remember correctly

The "game data" (installs/patches) and "save data" (saves) are handled separately so they're nice and easy to manage.

Don't forget that you can replace the HDD easily (and cheaply) in the future anyway.

Fortunately, the save games and the data install are in two different places. I always keep the saves just in case. Most Blu-ray games have installs because of the low read speed, although there are exceptions like the Uncharted games.

I can do this with the old backwards compatible one as well?

What else comes in the Carmen San Diego box?

It came bundled with a paperback "desktop encyclopedia." Best I can tell it's just a normal encyclopedia, but with a Broderbund ad on the back cover.

Thanks! This is already one of most valuable N64 games—people seem to hang on to their copies.

I love Once. It's not the best directed/acted film but it's got some nice songs, interesting characters and isn't full of cliches like 95% of romcoms.
