Michelle Ryan, ugh.

And there was a long article on Tennant's costume design in the latest issue of DWM.

I remember seeing somewhere (not DWM) that Tennant's coat was made from a suede-effect sofa fabric because of how the fabric looked on TV in terms of colour and how it hung in action scenes.

They also said that the blue suit was introduced in series 3 because they ran out of the brown pin-stripe fabric and they couldn't find any other brown fabric that looked the same.

I think she's worn more short skirts in the promo shots then Piper, Freema and Tate did in a whole 5 years worth of the 'new who'. :lol (RTD's choice in women was pretty poor and let's face it, they ALWAYS worse jeans or trousers).

My anticipation for Amy Pond isn't the only thing rising...

And as for Smith...I really do think 13 episodes on from his debut we'll forget Tennant even existed.

No, we wont. We will just accept Smith as the new Doctor. Just like once Tennant took over we adjusted, but didnt forget Eccelston.

And just for the Gillan fans:

What would it take to change the change the name of the show to Amy Pond travels through time and space?

Please don't get rid of her by next season. Please.

I like Amy Pond too much....

The only companion I really liked since the show started anew, and she has not even debuted yet :lol :lol

Haha. Moffat's expression in that pic is priceless.

I do hope that blue peter tardis design doesn't get much airtime, lest we forget the last time a competition winner's creation came into fruition on screen. Ugh.

New trailer in 3D in cinemas. Probably explains the 3Dish promo picture.

Karen in 3D....better take some tissues. :D

http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/technology/bbc-to-give-new-doctor-3d-push/5011046.article

The BBC is planning to use stereoscopic 3D to try to attract younger viewers to the new series of Doctor Who.

A 40-second 3D trailer has been commissioned to showcase the arrival of a new actor, Matt Smith, playing The Doctor.

Red Bee Media made the commercial, with effects and grading work completed by The Mill.

The promo was shot in 2D and is being converted to 3D by the Soho facility.

It will mirror the broadcast versions of a new campaign - also produced by Red Bee with help from The Mill - that
starts airing this weekend.

A BBC spokesperson said: “Doctor Who is the appropriate vehicle for 3D. It just fits. It’s a great way to introduce and showcase the new Doctor to younger viewers.”

The trail will be shown in cinemas and at external promotional screening events across the country in March under the banner of “Meet a Monster”.

The BBC spokesperson said that the corporation currently had no plans for further 3D promos, although some content will be created in 3D for and during the London Olympics in 2012.

If there isn't a single moment of Amy Pond bending over with her arse going into the camera in that trailer then Moffat's head is no longer safe.

After Donna, Amy is going to be like a breath of fresh air.

It's like going from Hell to Heaven in one jump. Well, via Bernard Cribbins.

Did you just compare Bernard Cribbins to purgatory? If so, you must leave this place.

Does the new guy have to dress like such a spaz? 9 and 10 were so cool and stylish.

Well, nine looked like - as they say in the show - a "U-Boat Captain" but I see your point. Then again, The Doctor shouldn't really look cool or stylish.

OMG!!! @ KG pic. :D

I love the new "Mad Prof" look of The Doctor, it indicates a more cerebral take on the character than #9 & #10, and also contrasts nicely with his youthful appearance.

Also as hot policewoman.

Nice to see some sex appeal back in the show, hopefully her and Matt Smith have good chemistry.

I hope that chemistry isn't her doing goggly eyes at him all season. Please no more of that kind of chemistry.

I'm happy she's stunningly hot, but at the same time I still wish they went for 2 companions or a male main companion for once. The love story angle's been beaten like a dead frickin' horse now.

The lack of googly eyes is why I loved Donna as the companion. She was the first one that didn't see the Doctor as a love interest, and didn't put up with any shit. But she was drooling over Captain Jack, as every being in the universe does.

infiniteloop said there's a new trailer coming on Saturday, so we'll probably get a start date then.

rom Lizo's Twitter:

Quote:*cough* new Dr Who trailer tomorrow *cough* 18.28ish BBC One, 19.16ish BBC HD *cough* 1 minute long *walks away whistling innocently*

So, some predictions were right, then.

Don't know how accurate this is.

Reads quite a bit like Tennant. And quite right, too.

About 45 minutes until the trailer supposedly airs on BBC One.

Probably put it on at 25 past just in case.

Wonder if the trailer will be much different from the one from New Years Day? I hope so.

I'm just hoping for a start date. And maybe some more dialogue.

I doubt there will be a date. That sort of thing always goes up on the BBC Press Office site first, and usually only 2 or 3 weeks beforehand.

Was OK. But a bit pointless and the
Silurian
at the end looked like he escaped from the McCoy era. Now the Hemovores - they would be an intresting villian to explore, especially at their hinted backstory in Curse of Fenric.
