This is semantics, and nothing more
Speaking of McConnell and Grimes, did anyone follow up on that Grimes lawsuit complaining about McConnell's election fraud fliers? It was dismissed yesterday:

A Kentucky judge on Monday rejected a court motion filed by Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes seeking an immediate injunction to stop Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell's campaign from sending out mailers that have the appearance of an official Kentucky notice.

The mailers, reported Friday by TPM, read "ELECTION VIOLATION NOTICE" and go on to warn voters that they may be acting on "fraudulent" information from the Grimes campaign. The tactic ultimately amounts to a creative attack on Grimes, although the mailers could create the impression that the voters who received them are at risk of committing voter fraud if they cast a ballot.

Franklin County Circuit Judge Phillip Shepherd denied the Grimes motion, spokespersons for the Grimes and McConnell campaigns confirmed on Monday.

i'm just waiting for PA governor tom corbett to get blown out. Local news was calling turnout in the Philadelphia area at "record highs" for midterms, almost presidential levels.

polls close in like...30 seconds

So how are the results so far comparing to expectations? Just about as bad as every one thought? Or worse?

its going to be a while until we really figure anything out. All the important races are too close to call early.

Hagan is going to win, Brown continues his role as loser, the rest are all still up in the air

edit.. Hagan is still "up in the air" as well... technically

If Republicans aren't winning in New Hampshire or North Carolina then if they win the Senate tonight it won't be by a 53+ seat blowout.

It's still very early in the night though.

Looks like Muriel Bowser is winning the DC Mayor's race... why are there no decent photoshops combining her with the Bowser from the Super Mario games? I mean, she's been on the DC City Council long enough that you'd think someone would have done one by now...

At least there doesn't seem to be a big wave after all. Not that it'll stop the media from proclaiming a Republican wave tomorrow once they take the Senate.
