I'm sort of impressed at how quickly people who don't like Sanders jumped on Cheebo's post without taking the..30 seconds or so it would take to actually check the publicly listed moderators for both subreddits. Lump X group of people in with Y group of people incorrectly and watch the hate flow. Huh, I have seen a lot of that recently, admittedly (IE, Trump).

EDIT: Also, I feel like I need to bathe my phone in bleach after having gone to KiA.

EDIT 2: Since it was not apparent - Trump's the master of "Lump group X with group Y and mix".

Yup. I looked and didn't see any shared moderator. Unless he's saying someone has multiple user accounts... then he needs to actually provide proof.

Tribalism is part of everyone. Just gotta try to accept our limitations and be honest and move from there.

I talk about the brain way too much

Yeah, come on HillaryGAF.

Another NH poll came out today showing Rubio in 5th place.

Jeb!mentum might be real!

If Rubio finishes 4th in Iowa and 5th in NH LOLOLOLOL.

A top 3 of Trump-Cruz-Bush is ideal from here on out.

Didn't you say you were a neuroscientist or something? :D

I am a first year mdphd whos going to do a phd in neuro and already did a few years of research already. So I don't think i deserve to be called a neuroscientist yet but check back in a year when i start my phd (i guess i deserve but I feel bad). So obviously (like how sanders/socialists/marxists use the economic lens) i use the neuro lens (my lens beats all of your lenses because its the sad shitty lens we all use to interact with the world). It gets boring but it does explain a lot
everything

Good news, men. It seems I officially got approved for Medi-CAL (this is the California version of medicaid)!

Now I no longer have any incentive to not get sick anymore!

Congrats.

Also, keep in mind that before the Affordable Care Act you would have been subject to an onerous property/asset vetting process every once in a while in addition to whatever income verification you had to do. So however hard/easy it was to get coverage now, it used to be much worse.

Yeah, come on HillaryGAF.

Does HillaryGAF even do that? I was thinking more of watching Trump pull that over and over in ridiculous fashion. I guess I'd sort of be HillaryGAF? I like some of Sanders' policies (even if others are completely infeasible), but I also like Hillary and the deal-making pragmatism I think she represents.

Why? Bush could win a general IMO. He's a total dweeb but republicans always turn out.
I think Bush would do about similar to Romney. No one in the party would really be enthused about him as a candidate but see the opposition as much worse and thus turn out.

Meanwhile there would be a rally effect for Hillary (quasi-incumbent) in the Democratic Party driven by a solid approval rating for Obama and a distaste for Bush on the other side. Accounting demographic shifts she'd win by a slightly larger margin than Obama did in 2012, pick up North Carolina and maybe put Missouri or Georgia in play. Solid 6-seat pickup in the Senate as well.

Why? Bush could win a general IMO. He's a total dweeb but republicans always turn out.

I think Bush has the smallest chance of winning out of all the candidates vs Hillary.

Bush vs Clinton.

I mean, is this a serious debate. Who but the most hardcore of supporters will take GWB over Slick Willy?

Why would Jeb! vs Hillary go any different?

edit: I think it's more likely Cruz gets obliterated than Jeb! but Jeb!'s ceiling is like 47%. He's not going any higher.

I have sympathy for the Bernie guys. A lot of sore winners here.

That's how it worked in Arizona as well. While unemployed and before Obamacare, I had to resubmit my tax information, and reapply. Using their backwards online system. After Obamacare that all went away. I just stayed covered indefinitely.

Rhodes said he hopes to keep recruiting volunteers from Reddit as the primaries continue. Because of this, he has come up with a name for the project as it extends beyond Operation Iowa. Rhodes is calling his Reddit recruitment operation the “Sanderstorm.”

“The people who are helping me — they’re actually called Sanderstormtroopers,” Rhodes said.

“And those Sanderstormtroopers on the front lines of Iowa—the Sanderstormfront, if you will—”

Yeah I imagine.

I'll be fine "if" Bernie loses Iowa. In fact I expect him to. What I'm not looking forward to is all that "I told you so", "people thought he had a chance?" "hahaha #notfeelingthebern" posting on GAF the following week after. It's going to be unbearable. I'll live though. I will be voting for Hillary after all, so I hope some of those people keep that in mind, that most Bernie supporters will be joining their side shortly.

Don't worry, we'll have a week and a half of #FEELTHEBERN after he wins N.H. (which is just as likely as him losing Iowa).

I will be so glad when this fucking election is over. It's dragged on for far too long and is no longer entertaining.

They would have to be removed them because I read about this a few months back at one of the other political Reddits, it's not something I made up off the top of my head.

Well I don't think as much no. Though of course it will happen. Bernie is expected to win NH. So those people are only kidding themselves. You won't see me do it.

I would love to say that this is being made up but unfortunately this is becoming the internet face of the Sanders campaign. I really wish more reasonable people were the louder supporters of Sanders. Its basically why reddit is unreadable and I'll stick to PoliGaf.

yup.

No, he wouldn't have to at all. Just offer the plan, claim his taxes on the wealthy via X Y Z will cover it, and say the math works to be revenue neutral even when it doesn't. This is politics, not CBO training.

Aww mamba, you know exactly what to say to warm up this old heart.

I will be so glad when this fucking election is over. It's dragged on for far too long and is no longer entertaining.

You do realize that we'll then almost instantly pivot to a discussion on how glently caressed dems will be in '18, yeah?

Maybe I am falling to Poe's Law here - but I'm not being sarcastic about the entire HillaryGAF thing. That was...genuinely intended to be a reference to Trump and his comments about Mexican immigrants (some good, some bad) and Muslims (keep the good ones and the bad ones).

I also have no idea who Cheebo is supporting - so can't comment on that front.

I feel like it's more people using this thread to vent about how terrible the Bernie/Hillary discussions are elsewhere.

As for OT; it'll get bad until things settle down in the primary - once you get the first two or so done, things will be happening so fast that I can't imagine people will be as hyper focused on the primary.

I am still kinda split in the middle on Sanders / HRC (I'm in WA, so I am not as worried as I think the primary will be long over by the time we vote) - but I think after looking at the shitshow that is the GOP side; I'm pretty happy that we get at least two pretty decent choices. I think the 2004 election has shown the left that we really don't have time to be eating each other alive once the primaries are over. With the stalemate that is congress currently; SCOTUS is going to be much more powerful, and I really don't want a 6 or 7 out of 9 conservative SCOTUS bench.

Trump is a disaster. Rubio or bust.

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/its-rubio-or-bust-for-republicans-who-want-to-win/

If they nominate Ted Cruz, Clinton would probably win, the GOP Senate majority would also be in peril and GOP House losses could climb well into the double digits. A Donald Trump nomination would not only make Clinton’s election very likely and raise the odds of a Democratic Senate; it could force down-ballot Republicans to repudiate Trump to survive, increase pressure on a center-right candidate to mount an independent bid and split the GOP asunder

I think this is seriously dangerous thinking. Bush has less of a shot than Christie or Carson? Jeb is a moron but he will have probably the most developed infrastructure. He won't have grass roots support or enthusiasm but neither will Hillary. Hillary is not Obama; she's an average retail politician. Right to rise does have money to start with the negative ads right away just like Obama did in 2012.

I think Cruz is more formidable than people think.

Everyone hates Cruz, he'll never make it to the general. The GOP would self-immolate before letting that happen. It's gonna be Trump and I'm going to make a bunch of money as a result.

My state has open primaries, so I'm going to vote for Trump when the day comes. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to forgive myself for legitimately voting for Donald Trump, but it's for the greater good.

I would have said that before Trump decided to target Cruz. One of the fun side effects of Trump wrecking people is he's absolutely destroying some of the GOP nominees to the point that they won't win in the General Election. Also, the GOP hates Cruz so much they'd rather deal with Trump and the possible dissolution of their party rather than help Cruz.

it won't be. Bernie will be in until the mathematically loses.

Rubio is my legitimate worry. I think he could beat Clinton. The Dems would be hard pressed to do the "Republican is the racist white person party line of attacks" with Rubio running; and many Latinos are socially conservative. Plus, he is young, charismatic, and once he gets to the GE; doesn't really have to move past his stump speech. Watching the evangelicals going to Trump, the GOP voters seem willing to fall into line with people they don't necessarily agree with. So I think he could get a good chunk of that anti-foreigner vote even being Latino himself.

That said, I am watching an up till recently moderate democrat-leaning white man from NY manage to take over the entire Republican Party in less then a year. I am not putting anything past Trump after that. He should have no chance to beat Clinton - but we might be watching him pull off a "no chance" thing right now, sooooo he still worries me.

EDIT: Also, I'm 50/50 on the entire "Clintons put him up to this to destroy the GOP" conspiracy. You couldn't write a theoretical textbook way to destroy the GOP then Trump is pulling off, and that is a heck of a coincidence.

That should legitimately be bannable. Not even kidding.

It's an honest mistake. It happens. Banning seems really excessive.

lol.

I am not just going to randomly make up stuff off the top of my head to upset Bernie-stans, I said that because I saw it mentioned few months ago, I think I may have even mentioned it here at the time who knows. Bernie's campaign does enough dumb things on it's own that I don't need to waste my energy making up stuff about it.

We'll all be on the same team in a few weeks when its Hillary vs. Trump (or Cruz) any way man.
