So what is Hillary and her campaign doing this week? Today they were out in force, is this going to be a normal occurrence now?

I should really start to get more involved, plus I'd like to go to one of her events.

She and her team have events scheduled pretty regularly. She has one in FL tomorrow, I believe. Now is when people start campaigning. In a week, she goes out with Obama or maybe he's on his own.

I'm not watching it. What are they talking about?

Well, you can tell both specials tried to be fair. There were some rough patches in Hillary's. Particularly around her Secretary of State years.

But it's very obvious that there has been way more actual scandal in Trump's life than Hillary's.

This special has touched on the divorces, Trump's cheating on Ivana. John Baron/Miller. The closure of his casinos. Just had a guy on specifically talking about all the small businesses that got hurt when Trump filed bankruptcy.

And several times Gloria Berger has chimed in to point out that Trump has refused to be interviewed for this. lol

That had to be my favorite part

I just hope the media stops being fucking stupid. Like I can already see them making this coughing shit a big deal.

But they need to start hitting Trump back. Like they need to question him about his scandals.

Like if Hillary straight up refused to answer questions on all her shit the media would definitely imply something was odd.

Facts. He's currently getting away with so much. If this week is Coughgate shenanigans and they completely skip over that fact that he refused to answer questions about his past scandals, I'll be mad as hell.

My first exposure to Phyllis Schlafly came via a Jello Biafra spoken word album when I was 13, and despite now being a suburban homeowning dad voting for an establishment shill, I see little reason to alter my initial view.

But in the spirit of Phyllis, I do have a question to put to you all: why not resurrect some version of the ERA? I know it is utterly unrealistic to pass it, but the mere act of making them oppose it seems like a great opportunity to brand the GOP as opposed to basic rights for women and LGBT, and would cement their support for the Democratic Party. Put it in our party platform and make the GOP oppose it. Maybe do the same thing with a Voting Rights amendment. I just think that when the other guys hold a position that is odious to the majority of the voting public (in this case, women), you really ought to make them own it.

Text of the ERA:
Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex

Presumably we would update the language to include LGBT.

I think the first time I heard of Schlafly was as a kid and I saw her on Donohue one day talking about how the US needed an orbiting battle station that would deter anyone from attacking us. Then she went on about the evil of premarital sex and how it was destroying the country. I thought she seemed kind of goofy and didn't take her seriously. I always assumed the Church Lady on SNL was based on her.

Ann Coulter is bombing and getting booed at this Rob Lowe roast

Wasn't this like a month ago? Or am I having another dumb?

it was filmed last week and is premiering on Comedy Central today

Ann Coulter is bombing and getting booed at this Rob Lowe roast

She literally went to it just to push her new book--the one about how Trump will save America that she released like a week after he completely backpedaled on everything it praises him for supporting. Every Roast has that 1 person who has no business being there... remember when The Situation was up there telling "jokes"? Every time.

They kinda look like brothers. Biden's the bad boy.
Biden is the dad that catches you drinking and is like "Boy, you don't mix shit like that. Let me teach you how to drink"

Kaine is the dad who sits you down and talks about the dangers of underage drinking and gives you a hug afterwards, letting you know that he's there to support you and you can talk about anything you want.

Wii U is Nintendo's Dreamcast. Oddly enough one of their best ever 1st party efforts.

This analogy doesn't work. Dreamcast had a far better first-party output from Sega than WiiU has from Nintendo, plus it had significant (and really good) third-party support, especially from Capcom and SNK.

Woah, woah, woah.

Gonna ask you to scale that back a bit. Some of Nintendo's best games in decades have come on Wii U. Like, this is not debatable. The Dreamcast had some good games, but it wasn't up to the level of anything that comes out of Nintendo's first party studios.

Also, Dreamcast failed because it didn't have an unprecedented partnership with EA, unlike Nintendo. Which did.

This is literally a sitcom pitch.

Dreamcast has awful first party games. Shitty sonic in 3D, Shenmue, a bunch of arcade titles no one gives a shit about. A couple of overrated RPGs. Hell Nintendo got one of the few good should have been a Dreamcast title in Super Monkey Ball.

The best DC games by far were third party.

Oh god.

Odd Couple Dads in the White House

A modern gay couple becomes President and Vice President. One's a hard drinking. hard loving bad boy. The other, is a former missionary who just wants to heal America's wounds and believes in the power of good vibrations and fireside chats. The dads and their three point five children have to navigate life, love and politics in this modern family classic.

Coming to NBC this fall.

Brilliant! I think it's more CBS though.

You should write it.

Actually, the rest of poli/gaygaf can write it as well. You'll be the showrunner.

It most certainly is.

Except for TF and Captain Toad, I don't really think anything from Nintendo on WiiU was particularly fun.

I'd much rather play the first-party stuff on Dreamcast. I prefer VF3tb to anything Nintendo's done this generation.

And again, that's without including the really good third-party stuff that is also superior (in some cases, far superior) to anything on the WiiU. Stuff like Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Bangai-O, Border Down, FirePro Wrestling D, CvS 2001, both Power Stone games, etc, blow anything Nintendo's done in literal generations out of the water.

Seems that the narrative about the media avoiding attacking Trump is catching on.

Hopefully the journalists speaking out don't stop.

Too much gay for CBS. Needs more lol NERDS R FUNNY RITE!?

I do prefer to be treated and worshiped like a goddess.
It most certainly is.
I mean, sure, if you want to be wrong? :p

I guess we just have completely different tastes in games. Not one of those games that you mentioned would I want to revisit. I can think of 10 titles on Wii U that I'll be coming back to year after year. I don't prefer arcadey type games, which is part of the issue.

My favorite Dreamcast game was Sydney 2000.

It's cyclical. They went hard on Trump after the convention. They got bored with it and now it's Hillary's turn. Once they're bored with that, it'll be something else.

I mean, sure, if you want to be wrong? :p

Or you know, reasonable. A majority of the "amazing" games on the Wii U are either prettied up versions of older releases, or the same ideas for a 3rd/4th/5th/nth time. At least the Wii took chances, the Wii U is the most Generic Nintendo Console I've ever seen.

Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. No one else complains about other beloved AAA franchises being rehashed for the nth time.

And I didn't know the wii had mario maker, treasure tracker and splatoon.
