Trump puts out press release titled "CLINTON’S 2008 CAMPAIGN MANAGER ON WHETHER THEY PROMOTED RUMORS ABOUT OBAMA’S HERITAGE: “YEAH""

It includes the following transcript:

PATTI SOLIS DOYLE: There was a volunteer coordinator, I believe in late 2007, I think in December, one of our volunteer coordinators in one of the counties in Iowa. I don't recall whether they an actual paid staffer, but they did forward an e-mail that promoted the conspiracy.

WOLF BLITZER: The birther conspiracy?

DOYLE: Yeah. Hillary made the decision immediately to let that person go. We let that person go.

They must have data showing his supporters read no further than the headings of things, because they right in there establish the campaign had no tolerance for that garbage.

They are so fucking stupid.

If it's ever brought up Hillary can easily rebute that by saying "clearly we have no tolerance for that. We let that person go immediately. Trump has entertained this racist conspiracy for years."

Or something along those lines.

RISE DEBORAH ROSS! RIIIIIIIIIIISE!!!!!

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/senate-democrats-money-north-carolina-missouri-indiana-228305

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is bolstering its ad campaign in North Carolina, Missouri and Indiana this fall as it seeks to knock off two incumbents and get former Sen. Evan Bayh across the finish line in Indiana. The committee is also scaling back significantly its effort to defeat Ohio GOP Sen. Rob Portman and Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, ceding ground in those expensive states.

The DSCC is investing $4.2 million more in North Carolina and $2 million in Missouri, giving the party significant footholds in its efforts to oust Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), the party official said. Democrats have now invested $6.7 million in North Carolina and $3.5 million in Missouri in the past week, a major play in two states that lean Republican.

Officials will also spend $2.5 million to help prop up Bayh, whose lead against Rep. Todd Young (R-Ind.) has been fading.

Democrats still feel that Florida is winnable but are coming to terms with their limited resources — and relying on Senate Majority PAC, the outside group aligned with Democratic leadership, to do much of the heavy lifting. The DSCC has cut all but the last three weeks of advertisements in Florida, leaving $6 million on the board of the initial $10 million reservation. Senate Majority PAC has spent $1.5 million so far in the Sunshine State and has $10 million more reserved there. The conservative Senate Leadership Fund has nearly $11 million in reservations to aid Rubio.

Democratic campaign officials are citing a new internal poll by Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Fla.) showing him down just 2 points to Rubio as evidence that the race is still competitive. There is some dissension within the party about how winnable Florida is, but there is agreement that Missouri and North Carolina are cheaper and that Blunt and Burr are vulnerable.

Kander, an Army National Guard veteran, enjoyed his first polling lead this week in Missouri, according to an Emerson poll that had him up 42-40 over Blunt, although Blunt still enjoys a 3-point lead in the RealClearPolitics polling average. Burr enjoys a similar lead, though Ross has led in individual public polls twice over the past two months. The National Republican Senatorial Committee has not spent money in those states yet, though Senate Leadership Fund is spending $2.5 million in Missouri and $8.1 million in North Carolina.

Infamous Second Son portrays your sidekick murdering drug dealers VERY positively.

This must be Duterte's favorite game. This chick murders dudes in cruel and unusual ways for being drug dealers and the main character is like "no, she's a good guy."

The other character in the story is like "no, murdering drug dealers is bad, what the fuck is wrong with you," but relents pretty quickly.

A large percentage of Republican voters have proven they are incapable of reading or understand the world around them.

The new thing is saying Sidney Blumenthal reached out to people with the idea. Except he was not part of the campaign.

And regardless of who started it, it's who perpetrated it.

Laura Bailey can do whatever she wants.

The birther stuff was definitely going to come up sometime this fall after the Hillary campaign kinda ignored it all year. Happy it returned in such a huge way.

In a major way. All he had to do was say Obama was born in the US. Instead they brought up a bunch of bs. Then played the media and literally stopped them from following him on his hotel tour lol.

This is what bugs me the most about Trump's stupidass defense. Let's say that hypothetically Hillary herself did in fact make the first reference to birtherism. Even if she did, she hasn't fucking mentioned it since 2008. Whereas Trump has mentioned it time and and time again, and 60% of his idiot supporters believe that shit.

To this day, I have yet to see anyone in the media point this out. Yeah, they've pushed back against that claim, sure. But no one's pointed out how the underlying logic is so fucking idiotic.

No one uses logic with voting. It's about what you FEEEEEEEEEEEEEL.

tfw they tell you they're putting another 4 million into your seat because you're a top tier pickup

It's amazing how the Trump campaign is simultaneously saying at the same time that Hilary was awful for bringing it up (even though that is a lie) and that he is a hero for propagating it. It's like there was no way they could possibly say anything nice about Hilary, but there was no way Trump was going to admit it was a mistake. If he was going to lie, and have a chance at getting away with it, he could have at least said he was wrong, but Hilary brought it up to begin with.

It'll be interesting to see how MO and NC shake out.

Missouri was a swing state in the past but has been trending red - on the other hand it can still elect Democrats under the right circumstances. Kander is gold as far as candidate quality, but is that enough to subvert Missouri's general trend?

Then you have North Carolina, a former solid red state that's become a swing state more recently. Deborah Ross isn't a great candidate on paper, but NC's natural lean seemingly makes the race winnable for her in spite of that.

So the questions essentially come down to - can a top-tier Democrat still win in Missouri? Has North Carolina moderated to a point where even a Generic Democrat can win? The fact that Burr and Blunt are both fairly meh incumbents is good for the purpose of experiment as well, since you couldn't really blame a Kander or Ross victory on running up against disastrous opponents (ie this isn't a Todd Akin situation).

In any case, good to see the DSCC investing in both, there were suggestions that internally they'd end up favoring one over the other.
