LaRosa's is good stuff.

Never tried it. Looks like it's most a Cincinnati area thing. I was living in Northeast Ohio.

Honestly it's not like I'd call the pizza I had in Ohio bad or anything. It's just that everywhere else I've lived has had at least one pizzeria that I'd consider clearly better than any pizzeria I tried there.

Paragraph 4: This is more noticeable to people not from New York, I think. People I know from NY generally blame their rural neighbors for guns getting into the state, even if data might show otherwise (I'm unsure if it does, though). And Bernie's record on guns is going to draw a ton of attack from most people. He's a leftist, so every GOP voter thinks he's out for their guns, and his voting record of immunizing the gun manufacturers from legal trouble is poison on the left. He's a man without a country on this issue.

Rural states, mostly southern states, do fuel NY's illegal gun trade. There's been numerous studies by everyone from the FBI and NYPD to more recently the NYTimes showing that the illegal guns used in NY crimes generally come from out of state. It's the same with pretty much every state that has strict gun laws: criminals use those states with lax gun laws to bypass the strict ones in their home state.

So when you hear a New Yorker complain that rural states fuel our gun problem, they're right. Vermont may not be the worst state in regard to bringing guns into New York, but it's sure as shit one of them.

Right, I was too vague. I specifically meant their rural neighbors. All of my NY friends throw out "Guns come from VT/NH/ME/etc..!" instead of any southern ones. It's always the rural border states, not the far away rural ones that get mentioned.

Chicago has the problem that Indiana literally borders the city.

Why would you do that? Just eat the cheese. It's the only good part of the pizza. That's how I eat pizza. I take a fork and scrape the cheese and toppings off. Then I eat that.

With a fork.

Like a real New Yorker.

Not all pizza crust is created equal. Perhaps you need to try something different?

The worst POS I ever tasted. And I was so excited to eat it as a kid.

Edit: you find me a burger that's as cheap as In n Out's burgers with that level of quality. There's a reason we call it the best over here.

It's amazing to me how little people really know about Obama. He was really well-informed for a young Senator, and he had a lot of great, well-explained positions. It wasn't just "Yes we can!" until he won.

People talk about how Obama came out of nowhere in 2008, but for the Democratic party itself, everyone knew that Obama was someone to watch after the 2004 DNC convention. And he layed massive groundwork for his 2008 run, one of the most organized political organizations I have seen.

The rural border states are also a problem, they just aren't a huge part of the illegal gun trade. The rural states are more of a problem for upstate NY due to their proximity, they just don't look it because NYC masks the number due to it's huge population.

Chicago has the problem that Indiana literally borders the city.

Pretty much. Gun control, as much as people don't want to admit it, is a national issue. If we can't get everyone on the same page there's only so much that can be done about gun violence.

There's lots of revisionist history out there about 2008. People like to draw parallels between Obama and Sanders but aside from running against Hillary Clinton and winning the youth vote, they just aren't there. Obama was a rising star with plenty of support from within the party (albeit less than Clinton initially), Clinton never appeared to be inevitable (although it was part of Mark Penn's strategy to try and portray her as such), and while Obama did appeal to people with soaring rhetoric, he could also get into the nitty-gritty of policy with the best of them. One of the things that really attracted me to him was the way he could talk about complex or nuanced ideas in a way that didn't come across as lecturing.

I'm no food expert, just a food lover. Living on Cape Cod we have a few culinary gaps (it's hard to find good Indian or Mexican), but we excel at ice cream and anything fish related. We have amazing sushi. Amazing fried fish. Amazing lobster rolls. Amazing stuffed quahogs. Amazing clam chowder.

Yeah, there's good eating up here, and most of the expected bases are well covered.

That sounds like heaven.

In Adam's defense, I will say that Ohio is the worst place I've lived.

FTFY.

Dying here right now.

Different Milne--her son Scott almost took the governorship in 2014. But damn, what a blast from the past that article was. I remember the Take Back VT days...

Funny story about Scott: I worked at a newspaper publisher during the '14 election. I'm tall, worked at a standing desk at the time. Scotty comes walking right through, not saying a word to anyone--looking around--and spots me. "Hey shorty." Winks, points, grimaces, leaves.

Awkward guy. But Shumlin was weak that year.

Ha, that makes more sense.

The best burger I've ever had in my life is at this fancy restaurant in chicago exurbs. It was a plain ol cheeseburger but man. It was life. Never look, smell and see a burger the same way again.

Best burger I've ever had was at the Blue Canoe in Tupelo. Amazing place.

And somebody should do a shoddy MS paint edit to that Cruz photo and just add the 'mast' part.

there's your problem

i grew up in and spent the first 18 years of my life in one of cleveland's inner-ring suburbs

and between cleveland and akron, there's basically nothing left

One of the main things I learned while living in Northeast Ohio was that Akron benefits immensely from the comparison to Youngstown.

On economics, Bernie is nearly as stupid as Cruz and Paul Ryan:

I spoke with Warren Gunnels, Sanders’s policy director, and he told me that the senator doesn’t believe there is a trade-off to be made. Sanders believes that raising the minimum wage, spending a trillion dollars on infrastructure and offering free college will fundamentally shift the structure of our economy toward the poor and middle class. It will inspire such enthusiasm and determination that more people will work harder and invest more, and the country will easily generate the tax income to pay for it. Hence, Sanders’s plans won’t cost money; they’ll raise money. Like Veblen, Sanders spends much of his time denouncing the excesses of others, but at heart he is one of the world’s greatest optimists. Sanders obviously understands that his vision of the economy is at odds with the existing way of seeing things. His website and his stump speeches ask his followers whether they’re ready to start a “revolution.”

Speaking of Pizza, here's Bill at Pepe's in New Haven during the 92 CT Primary.

Gonna camp out there till the 26th, wait for Hillary, see if history repeats itself.
