The political subreddits are exhausting to wade through right now... I just stumbled on this "truth bomb" in one of the top r/S4P threads:

If Hillary wins she will make a pact with DWS and Republicans against us all. Any chance at campaign finance reform will die forever and we will become a Corporate Feudalistic Oligarchy. Dems will become the same as Republicans on everything other than social policy. This will protect her second term from a corporate coup and Republican obstructionism. She will likely invest heavily into correct the record like operations because of its big success in disinformation and psy-ops. DWS still in place... This will lead to even more people divorcing themselves of politics than ever before, allowing for political astroturf to completely take over. Corporatist Democrats with liberal social policy take the supreme court and rig elections with their power.

With stupid comments like that, Trump's every typical toxic internet poster (you know the types) brought to life. It'll be cathartic as hell to see that attitude and mentality smacked down wholesale by the reasonable majority of the country.

And brehs, there's no point to wading through those noxious subreddits anymore. You'll just drive yourselves crazy.

I don't want to get cocky... but Republican nominee Trump is making me very excited about Hillary's prospects for the fall. I really do expect her favorables to have a marked tick up. The more Trump talks.

That's how I feel too. It's.. Really hard not to get excited for November. Every comment like this is freaking manna from Heaven and paints a bigger contrast.

Is this from his Howard commencement speech? I haven't had time to listen to the whole thing, but it fits with a lot of the other excerpts I've seen.

Damned good message. People need to smarten up.

Edit: Now I see it was confirmed on the last page. Cool.

I was gonna watch that Rachel Maddow interview with Bernie but even the titles on the videos were enough to make me go like.. "Yeah, I'm done giving Bernie attention."

You've got the quintessential spoiled entitled manchild versus a leader.

And on top of that, this leader will also have the backing of a very popular sitting president.

I'm just... this election cycle has the chance to go very very good.

Honestly don't think that there needs to be any analysis of this race other than the fact that less than 30% of Americans are white full abled men who are non-Mormon Christians that don't attend church.

What else can you write about this election that is worth noting? Trump hates women, he hates people of color, he hates Mormons, he's associated with people that hate Jews, he hates the disabled... There's honestly nothing else that needs to be said to be able to accurately predict the election.

Obama's speech is so wonderful and true. I used to be a crazy liberal myself, and it was so embarrassing. Compromising is much better than not gaining anything or making little to no progress. It's part of being a rational, forward thinking adult.

Yep, Trump is going to be fucking buried. I can't wait to see the (mostly benign) reactions of delusional and racist supporters. It's going to be wonderful.

This is the problem with nominating who truly believes in white nationalism and misogyny. It's not like Romney when he can turn it off and try (fairly unsuccessfully) to pretend that it never happened... White Nationalism and misogyny are the only beliefs Trump has other than how great he is.

Yes it does..

Yes it does indeed.

It is.. But this is like Viagra for Ivy.. Everytime things like this get posted.. He spontaneously springs a boner.

Over the years I've come to expect the American people to occasionally give in to their lesser demons.

I'm hoping the tea party wave was it, and they do the intelligent thing this cycle.
To be fair the tea party wave only happened thanks to midterm dropoff.

I mean that doesn't speak much better of the American people, but they hardly have claim to a mandate.

Like Aaron said, the Tea Party surge was mostly due to low Dem voter turnout during the midterms. That's a problem for sure, but Dems show up to the Presidential elections

Virginia Area C resident here.

NoVa raised. This place will go in massive margins to HRC, lol. Too many government workers, rich immigrants, and generally left leaning social values people. As well as a lot of latinos.

Is the 2 party system even in place anymore? I can't actually fathom that Trump represents a major party in the U.S. -- and what I mean by that is, there is absolutely no way this man gets elected. There can't be that many people that would vote for him.

Right?

One former aide describes approaching a car with Gingrich’s daughters in hand, only to find the candidate with a woman, her head buried in his lap. The aide quickly turned and led the girls away. Another former friend maintains that Gingrich repeatedly made sexual advances to her when her husband was out of town. On one occasion, he visited under the guise of comforting her after the death of a relative, and instead tried to seduce her. In certain circles in the mid-1970s, Gingrich was developing a reputation as a ladies’ man.

Man, Trump needs to pick Newt so bad.

Right?

Look up first past the post by ccp grey on YouTube. There may temporally be more than 2 parties but it will be short lived.

Heard this interesting piece on NPR yesterday... apparently, most Clevelanders think that the Republican Convention is going to have a net positive effect on their city's future. I agree. Being burned to the ground is going to do wonders for Cleveland's prospects.

Hilariously, 70% of respondents are also worried about the prospect of violence, so I guess they agree with me!

Newt seriously makes my skin crawl as much as Ted Cruz.

The amount of protests and riots is seriously gonna be astounding. Kasich might have to call a state of emergency.

What's the most prominent piece of vaporware right now: The Last Gaurdian or the Republican replacement to the ACA?

The Republican replacement to the ACA is more comparable to Half Life 3. They always say it's coming and it's always closely covered by the press but everyone knows it's never coming and isn't even being worked on.

Not that it's a whole lot better, but it seems like he was saying "women get it better" as in "women understand it better than men" rather than "women have it better than men." But he's still playing the "us poor men" card, so good luck with that.
