I'm checking out Keeping it 1600 since so many of y'all are talking about it

I thought this week's episode was one of the weaker ones. Jon trying not to laugh when the guest said she would write in her ballot and labeled Hillary as a criminal was pretty awkward. Everyone did a good job keeping the discussion professional though.

MSNBC has this nice video showcasing Sander's new committee and the importance of Party unity for the dems. I recommend checking it out.

On another note, and I don't like voicing grievances publicly most of the time, but feel a need to speak on this one; I think it's foolish, if not offensive, that one would accuse someone else of shitposting or trolling, merely for voicing concern or support for a group, merely because they might not be as popular. Just because what might be said might not be popular or common, doesn't equate it to trolling. I believe we, as a community, are better than this... And after the past crazy months of election news and GAF discussion, I'd like to think of myself a part of the PoliGAF community. I don't say that about a lot of the GAF communities, but I feel PoliGAF is great. I believe you guys, and this community as a whole is great, but the trolling accusations are starting to really hurt. I just had to get that out there.

What is it about Kamala Harris that gets people so excited? She's fine I guess. Really hard for me to get pumped up for a district or state attorney.
She'll be a a senator soon enough.

Also isn't she state AG? Hardly a nobody position.

Mostly she's just a young, progressive minority female. It checks every box on an ideal Democratic candidate in future elections.

She's not that dude named Duff running for senator.
No way I'd vote for someone named Duff. Sorry.

She's actually 51. She's only young by Hillary standards.

CA Dems are hyping Kamala hard for the open Senate seat, so she's getting mentioned a lot. Her progressive record is pretty strong.

I don't think a Senator from CA is likely to be the nominee any time soon, but hey, we'll see what happens with her convention speech.

If we did a venn diagram with PoliGAF on one side and OT Politics on the other, what would the overlap be called?

I will be voting for Kamala soon here. I should be getting my mail in ballot soon.

She can be if California is early in the primary season and Harris is the only black candidate running.

S.E. Cupp is... boring on this podcast. They are really letting her talk though

Hillary is a "truly contemptible criminal" LOL. At least she plans on not voting Trump either

Conservative views aren't an important thing that Silicon Valley needs to consider. I guess they are free speech allies, but... most people are.

I mostly just think California is too different politically from the rest of America for politicians who are successful in California to do well nationally.

One night in January, Donald Trump skipped a GOP debate, and instead held his own televised fundraiser for veterans. At the end of the night, Trump proclaimed it a huge success: “We just cracked $6 million, right? Six million.”

Now, Trump’s campaign says that number is incorrect.

Campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said the fundraiser actually netted about $4.5 million, or 75 percent of the total that Trump announced.

Lewandowski blamed the shortfall on Trump’s own wealthy acquaintances. He said some of them had promised big donations that Trump was counting on when he said he’d raised $6 million. But Lewandowski said these donors backed out and gave nothing.

The "Did Trump steal $1.5M from veterans" question.

She seems kinda cool. Watched her speech from the CA Democratic Convention and thought it was pretty good.

It wasn't like, "Whoa, why is this person not already president?!" good like Obama's national Democratic Convention speech back in...what was that '05? '06? I don't remember anymore. I'm getting old early, folks. Memory's always the first thing to go.

But yeah, it wasn't transcendent or anything, but I was like, "Ok, this lady can work a room pretty good and with a slightly better speech writer, I could see her being a good possible face of the party, other factors aside."

It would be a nice delegate haul though, and we know that candidates who fall behind in the Democratic primary very rarely make up for it.

Nevada Democrats: Math Is Hard for Sanders Campaign

Apparently simple math proved challenging for the Sanders campaign on Saturday night – but it really shouldn’t take three days to figure out this one:

Based on the county convention results, Bernie Sanders had 2,124 delegate seats at the State Convention and Hillary Clinton had 1,722 delegate seats at the State Convention.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign was organized:

Clinton filled 1,695 of her 1,722 delegate seats. Clinton had just 27 delegate seats vacant. Clinton filled 98 percent of her available delegate seats at the State Convention.

Bernie Sanders’s campaign was not organized:

Sanders filled just 1,662 of his 2,124 delegate seats. Sanders’s campaign still left a whopping 462 delegate seats vacant. Sanders only filled 78 percent of his available delegate seats at the State Convention.

Reality check on the Sanders campaign’s conspiracy theory allegations on 64 ineligible Sanders delegates who were “denied”:

Only eight of these ineligible delegates – people who weren’t registered Democrats as of May 1 or failed to provide missing identification information – even attempted to register at the State Convention.

Six of the 64 potential delegates were seated after investigation.

Fourty-four of the 64 potential delegates had prior notice of ineligibility and the Sanders campaign had every opportunity to provide the necessary documentation.

They're being pretty aggressive!

i'd be impressed if there was a Democratic National Convention in 2005 or 2006 given that both aren't presidential election years

Der doi. I'm a bonehead. I'm going to beg pardon based on the fact that I have night construction going on just down the hill from my apartment this whole week. I am bloodshot eyed and running off caffeine and spite.

What I meant was more that I don't think the DNC would allow her to get enough support to run unless she demonstrated national appeal. The party decides, after all!

But hey, I'd vote for her.

Lol.

Obviously no one from Clinton's campaign reads GAF Gaming side. Oh Polygon MarioKart, we knew ye well.
Nothing will ever top the Polygon Mario Kart chart in terms of pure incompetence.

Even that article's base argument (MK8 will be the lowest-selling in the series) ended up being wrong too. That site is just a joke.

Well if every presidential contender is compared to Obama then pretty much all of them will fall short. Once in a generation candidate.

The last politician who had Obama's level of charm was JFK.

Take Lori Gayne [Illinois Trump delegate], an admittedly outspoken former Internet talk show host from Chicago, who said she voted for President Barack Obama in his first bid for the White House in 2008.

One of Gayne's social media handles is "whitepride."

"With all the racism going on today, I'm very proud to be white. Just like black people are proud to be black and now, as white people, whenever we say something critical we're punished as if we're racists. I'm tired of it. I'm very proud," Gayne said.

"I'm so angry I don't even feel like I live in America. You can call me a racist. Black Lives Matter? Those people are out of control," she said.

"I'm all for closing the borders. I'm all for not allowing Muslims in this country. I'm all for keeping illegals out and get as many of them who are here out as soon as possible. ... Why do I want my taxpayer money taking care of criminals and murderers who aren't supposed to be here?"
