Trump is literally running off a "I got you fam don't worry about it" platform from his previous interview. It's pretty funny to see people standing with him based on "policy" as most of them are basically ass backwards hypernationalist bs for now.

To be fair, these aren't Sanders supporters at all.
These are conservative Democrats who aren't actually Democrats and vote reliably Republican in every Election (this is a primary, not election).
They're also too lazy to change their party affiliation to Republican because...I don't know. But they're republicans, through and through.
basically, 9% of the voters who voted Hillary are saying "I support Trump but I have to vote in the Dem primary and I think Hillary is the easier opponent OR if we're going to lose I'd rather have Hillary over socialist Sanders." I can't know which of the two most of that 9% is voting for.
39% is saying "I support Trump but in the Dem Primary I think Sanders is the easier opponent OR Hillary is the new Obama and fuck black people." Again, not sure which of the two is driving it, though my suspicions are the latter.

No, actually, it makes perfect sense.
The labor/landed-gentry divide in the greater Virginia region starts with the Bacon's Rebellion against Governor William Berkeley in 1676. Settlers and poor whites (who lived primarily west of the coast) were upset that Berkeley was refusing to allow them to expand westward as free land became scarce closer to the coast. Berkeley himself had a lucrative fur trade agreement with the local Native Americans. This cronyism with savages prompted professional dilettante Nathaniel Bacon to stage a rebellion, promising as many Indian slaves and land as his followers wanted. While unsuccessful, the gentry were substantially shocked that black slaves and white indentured servants had joined forces against the landowning elites. This prompted them to actually codify in law a separation in the rights of Africans and Whites; it was a purposeful attempt to fracture society so that there was no reason to unify against the ruling class. Many historians agree that this was the turning point in race relations in American history, and class would no longer be the most important dividing quality.
Fast forward to the years prior to the Civil War. Increasing resentment against slavery is fueled in large part because of a belief in a right to work: how could hard working whites compete against free laboring blacks? This is the primary reason that slavery was outlawed in most of the Northern states. Abraham Lincoln argued this against Douglas in one of their famous debates. The Republicans as a whole thought that slavery would reduce the working conditions of whites to that of slavery itself, and so in order to secure the American promise of opportunity (west), slavery had to be outlawed in new territories.
This is why West Virginia separated from Virginia. Because the working whites there had 200+ years of resentment toward the rich in Virginia proper, and after Bacon's rebellion their enemy was the black slave.

I kind of believe this actually.
One anti-establishment candidate in this election shook up the establishment by speaking directly to what primary voters wanted.
The other was Bernie Sanders.
Hell I think Trump has more votes than Bernie.
Let's not retread the whole question of how exit polls can only be useful outside of the U.S., even when some of the very same organizations are conducting the exit polls abroad...
What I'm saying is, I would bet purely Bernie supporters would be willing to pony up sufficient $27 donations to fund an independent exit poll that would, at the very least, give Bernie supporters peace of mind that the California primary recorded vote largely matches the actual vote, as indicated by a scrupulously conducted exit poll.

I don't know why I'm bothering. Buy wtf are you on about. Any exit poll is a sampling. The actual voting is the population.
I'm not sure he understands how exit polls work at this point.
Their own candidate of choice has stated many times that Trump can't be allowed to take the white house, from the previous poll that stated most dems thought either candidate would be just fine, not ideal but OK, it's like eh... why bother with it anymore.

I wonder if come September or October these conspiracy posts will be virtually nonexistent? I know the party was split after 08, PUMA and all that, and that they eventually came together.
But I don't remember this level of conspiracy; this feeling that it was stolen from them and if it wasn't for those dang Wall Street people behind the scenes they wouldn't have gotten away with it. I have a feeling those kinds of conspiracy narratives will linger for a while.

A lot of it is just laziness - it's a lot easier to vote for Republican at elections than taking the time to switch their registration over to the GOP. Plus, they still see themselves as Democrats and just forget the parts of the DNC they disagreed with from the beginning.
Also, a lot of local Democrat's are pro-coal, socially conservative, but economically liberal and have been able to keep themselves separate from the national DNC.
Is this scaled to identify those who are Strongly, Moderate , Somewhat Moderately, Not at all Gay
I feel like it might fluctuate and need more nuance here.

That Sanders-to-Trump statistic is probably the most interesting number of the day. I'd love to hear any Sanders supporters tell me with a straight face that they're voting for Sanders--An unapologetic socialist running on a platform of drastically increasing the size of government and expanding government services as well as liberal social policies--When their preference for the party is less liberal than Obama. Those are people voting specifically against Hillary, or are possibly low-information. Neither is a voting block Sanders should be particularly proud of carrying.
Clinton probably gets blown out as anticipated but I wasn't expecting it to be on the backs of people who want less liberal party. Interesting.
WV is going to be weird until they finally rid themselves of coal. So never. It will devolve into tribal governance with local militias to force out the federal government before it would actually give up coal. At the same time it's such an insignificant state that it's barely worth it for a presidential candidate to pander to their specific agenda.
