Hillary's people thought it would be a good way to unify the party. And it was! And then she was the one to push for his nomination by acclimation. It was a smart move on both sides. It wasn't done so that she could try and win superdelegates. It was done to unify the party.

I have no issue with Bernie's name being put in for nomination. Let a few states vote, and then let him come out with the delegation from Vermont and call for Hillary to be nominated by acclimation. No trouble with that at all.

That came about from negotiations, she wanted a more public convention for her delegates to express her frustrations and settled for that. Obama didn't want a scene, it was never about him needing delegates.

Proof that it was because she was "frustrated"? She endorsed Obama well before the convention. She told her people that we needed to work to elect him President. There was never, ever one time a single instance where she said her people should support Obama depending on what Obama was willing to do for us.

Sh released her delegates prior to the roll call vote. Her people and the Obama people agreed that letting them put her name in nomination and allowing some of her delegates to vote for her was a good way to unite the party. It was. It was incredibly smart on both sides. (It's compromise, something Bernie's not great at.)

There are a lot of things people can come at Hillary for. Her behavior and actions after suspending her campaign is DEFINITELY not one of them.
 
I can't help but wonder what JEB! and his family think about their party falling in line behind a bully. They probably can't believe it's happening.

I feel like it's victim blaming to say that Christie brought this on himself, but he knew what he was getting into.

So today we've had:

- Trump making a fat joke
- Trump calling Miss Venezuela "Miss Piggy", according to her
- Trump reaffirming his Muslim ban (after supporters in Congress called it a "virtual", not real, wall)
- Trump child porn delegate

Again, I don't think anyone has a problem with this even this year. Yes, there needs to be catharsis this year too. However, that doesn't require Hillary to give Bernie everything he wants so his fee fees aren't hurt. I have no issue with his name being put forward, provided he agrees to suspend the roll call at a certain time. Where I was taking exception was the idea that she held her delegates as a way to get something from Obama. That wasn't the case, but that IS the strategy Bernie seems to be walking down. I think on strategy is far, far more likely to have a positive set of results than the other.
 
I had On Point on on the way to the gym and it was a round table of Bernie supporters. Only Bernie supporters. A guy called in and said the world was going to end if we don't elect Bernie. And he didn't seem to mean it figuratively.

I think she was subtly negotiationing with Obama by threatening her Delagates might make a scene which would have hurt unity. Bernie is definitely more explicit about his delagates and he wants more, but it's a similar process. Its politics and I wouldn't worry about it at his point

There is absolutely no evidence of this, though. None at all. She consistently said the important thing to do was to defeat McCain. The only person a scene would have hurt would have been her, her legacy and her position within the party, Because Bernie cares about none of that, he's more free to be a total ass if it suits him.

There are a plethora of reasons why I feel what Bernie is doing is totally different from Hillary staying in 2008.

Honestly, if he was elected and things started to go south (like legit country is falling apart, relations are being destroyed and world at large goes into great chaos) really quick, I'm sure congress would indicate him.

And if that didn't work, CIA would either plant him so he could be indicted or he would be assassinated.
