CONFIRMED: Orion = PS6. Canis = PS6 Handheld.![]()
Yes yes, lmao MLID and all that. Guy has been extremely spot on with PlayStation stuff for a while, so I guess it's fair to give him a chance here.

I think it's much smarter to heed what our colleague K KeplerL2 says here than what MLID says. The fact that he's been adjusting his information as Kepler corrected him should say it all.Yes yes, lmao MLID and all that. If PS6 portable won't have its own exclusive like PSP and PSVita did and just getting port of console version then the system just gonna be useless to me.
Mostly all of us buy any system because it has games we want to play.I want it to be its own device that doesn't require devs to make a dumbed-down version of every game for the handheld device. As a standalone device, I would probably purchase it (depending on what types of games developers are making for it). As an extension of the PlayStation 6, I'm really not interested, and I think that's going to gimp development for the entire generation.
The entire point of the portable isn't for people to have the choice between a home console and a portable one. I don't think this ia a PSP kind of situation and let's hope it isn't. Imagine Sony with two platforms to make games again lol. That's one of the things that killed the Vita.If PS6 portable won't have its own exclusive like PSP and PSVita did and just getting port of console version then the system just gonna be useless to me.
Yes when I don't have to pay for two separate systems. Also I didn't buy Switch because it has "portable mode" I bought it because it has games I want to play and portable mode was just a nice bonus. The entire point of the portable isn't for people to have the choice between a home console and a portable one. I'm pretty sure anyone who wants a new console AND handheld play but can't afford to buy both will just get the PS6P.Yes when I don't have to pay for two separate systems. Also I didn't buy Switch because it has "portable mode" I bought it because it has games I want to play and portable mode was just a nice bonus.
Also entire point of "hybrid" having both TV mode and portable in one system, if I have buy another separate system then kinda lose entire point of "hybrid" in the first place.
If portable gaming very important to you then I guess.I'm pretty sure anyone who wants a new console AND handheld play but can't afford to buy both will just get the PS6P.
Like me.
I guess it depends if you prefer TV play.If portable gaming very important to you then I guess.
I bought all my systems including portable systems mostly because it had exclusive games I want to play.
For me it doesn't matter, if a system portable or console has exclusive games I like then I will buy that system no question…if system doesn't have it own exclusive then it's waste of my money.I guess it depends if you prefer TV play.
I don't see the problem with it, it's just another way to play the same games for different types of players. If PS6 portable won't have its own exclusive like PSP and PSVita did and just getting port of console version then the system just gonna be useless to me.
But look at it like this, if you had to choose between a normal PS6 and PS6 Portable, which one would be? That would certainly depend on how you want to play. For me it doesn't matter, if a system portable or console has exclusive games I like then I will buy that system no question…if system doesn't have it own exclusive then it's waste of my money.
Console no question since I never take any of my system outside of my house. But look at it like this, if you had to choose between a normal PS6 and PS6 Portable, which one would be? That would certainly depend on how you want to play.
I'd get both, but realistically I love the Switch model that allows both. I would buy them even harder if they were actually separate ecosystems and not just platform mirrors with performance differences, but I know those days are dead. But look at it like this, if you had to choose between a normal PS6 and PS6 Portable, which one would be? A portable system can still include the option to output to a TV.
Yup.You know how much Sony loves accessories. There def will be a dock to buy if you want it.
I can confirm Canis is the codename for the handheld. As for the PS6 console I heard a different codename, but maybe it was for an earlier revision and Orion is the final name.
Ad we learned with the Vita. No one is going to make games exclusively for it. Even Sony abandoned the thing. If PS6 portable won't have its own exclusive like PSP and PSVita did and just getting port of console version then the system just gonna be useless to me.
Sure but again if it doesn't have its own exclusive then why would I buy this instead of actual PS6 console?A portable system can still include the option to output to a TV.

I don't take my gaming system outside my house. I love gaming but when I go outside or vacation, I'm there to do something other than gaming. So you can play ps6 games on the bed, loo, airplane, porch, beach without worrying about Wi-Fi signal.
Can someone please tell me why it can't be a portable device with an external dock with a gpu and ram etc built into the dock!? It would allow one sku and one development kit
Base unit 1080p/60 portable 4k/120 docked
Really EGPUs exist today that allow rogs to use much higher videoNo tech exists to make the interconnect fast enough. 256 GB/s is still too slow to make two GPUs appear coherent as one.

So you guys want the system to go the way of the dodo like the vita again, what a brilliant idea.I want it to be its own device that doesn't require devs to make a dumbed-down version of every game for the handheld device. Vita failed because Sony stopped supporting the game just became port matching. So you guys want the system to go the way of the dodo like the vita again, what a brilliant idea.
This just in: The PS7 is codenamed Cunni and the PS7 portable is codenamed lingus.
Source: Rainman since whoever comes up with these dumbass fucking names is a special kind of smart.

Japanese devs does like to make games on portable systems…not much western devs and this gen majority Sony first party studio are western.Ad we learned with the Vita. No one is going to make games exclusively for it. Even Sony abandoned the thing.
And this won't be like the series s?
Actually… Worse. Thats why i think this doesn't make any sense, but an hybrid console is the most logical move, with Sony releasing all their games on PC they doesn't have to worry about having the most powerful console anymore… Just the most powerful hybrid…And this won't be like the series s?
Because the real PS6 is going to be very expensive, and some markets (Japan) like handheld gaming over console gaming.Sure but again if it doesn't have its own exclusive then why would I buy this instead of actual PS6 console?
I bought Switch not because it portable mode but rather because it had exclusive games I want to play.
And Sony needs those Japanese devs. Now they'll just have to hope they want to make more games on PS. Sony won the battle gen(not counting Nintendo, because they're doing their own thing), but they have a hell of a war ahead of them.Japanese devs does like to make games on portable systems…not much western devs and this gen majority Sony first party studio are western.
The issue with that is unlike Nintendo, Sony this gen dont have much games that appeals to Japanese audience.Because the real PS6 is going to be very expensive, and some markets (Japan) like handheld gaming over console gaming.
I mean, even if physical media was on the cards, it will surely not support BD/UHD BDs.But how do portal2 perform in physical copy?don't tell my i have buy again games i own in digital

Series S was mandatory but if a handheld can play your crossgen PS5 games, PS4, and not the entire PS6 library that might be too demanding for handhelds what's the problem? Would it be as "dumb" as a steamdeck?when i think sony cant be any dumber, they pull a series s portable? fuck off sony
