If it was up to GAF they wouldn't have ever been picked Julia Garner to be Ruth in Ozark. And she was a STAR in this show!

The trilogy has to end with her actually making the sacrifice Joel wasn't prepared to. The most 'stunning and brave' thing Druckmann could do would be to end The Last Of Us on a positive note for humanity.

I hate the character's looks in Intergalactic, but I LOVED RUTH, she fit the spot perfectly and I would pick her any day.

It was around 15 million sold as of Fall 2023. TLOU2 is selling better than TLOU1 launch aligned. This is a fact!
I'd argue that it's art and a consumer product. Like a Taylor Swift album. And.........why do yall keep bringing up Concord? They were an unknown developer that Sony never worked with before, while Jim Ryan had his "Live Service Games are Playstation's future" nuts in his mouth.
ND making a big single-player game isn't Concord.

I don't see how anyone thought the trailer looked good. Seen people here say the end clip of her jump attacking towards a robot, and showing no actual fighting or connection made it great. I think you are defending it using fanboy glasses.
It looked like a pile of nothingness, that's why I personally hated it. Plus, like I previously mentioned, having this as a show closer was so much less impactful than having a nothing reveal of Elder Scrolls 6, which was just text on a screen. Geoff, apparently, cumming didn't help.
I did think, with the audio and blurry character at the start, it was Mass Effect. Then, seeing her shave, I thought it was Jack from 2. Then the trailer continued, so I guess that didn't help.

Because it's a case study of 'doing what you want' and not caring what your customer wants. You want to do what you want, knock yourself out. But be prepared to face the consequences when you are selling a multi-million product where the core audience isn't the majority.

I'd like to think the majority of gamers will be looking for more things from Intergalactic, than if Jordan is hot or not. If the gameplay, story, music, vibe lines up with what they like...............I'd like to believe they'd buy the game. Even if they think she's not attractive.

All the successful "woke" games are ignored because it doesn't fit the narrative. People were shitting on Hades II for their designs, but it has over 100k peak CCU on Steam was swept under the rug. No one brings up Spider-Man 2 or God of War Ragnarok after the sales announcement. Baldur's Gate 3 and Hogwarts Legacy are both used by the anti-woke crowd, but those games would be considered "woke" as well. People bashed ugly character designs in Silent Hill 2, but Konami considers it a success and it was never mentioned again.
After episode 3 of The Last of Us, people said they would stop watching The Last of Us TV series because it was too woke.
Viewership increased the next episode and sales increased for both games during and after the show ended.
It's possible people may not like this game because success is not guaranteed, but my prediction is that the hatred for the main character's design won't be as loud as we move closer to the game's release. If Naughty Dog hits it out of the park with the game play then I think that's what most people are going to be talking about.

This touches on the following rather painful point for the female population of this planet: an attractive men who looks like he's mid 40s is still helluva attractive. The "rules" are completely different for women, who try to keep "20s" look for as long as possible.Wow, she made Joel look like me in my 20s!
Then there are 2 theories about why that happens:
1) White male motherfucker conspiracy also known as "patriarchy" does it, so if you "dismantle" it, scheisse gets "fixed"
2) It might have something to do with sharp fertility drop in female homo sapiens
Given number of movies/series in which I see grandma doing romance with a young man, folks really believe it is #1.

The music will be great, being composed by Trent and Reznor. Quality music is important to me. The art direction also looks very good, besides the MC, whose lack of physical attractiveness isn't the main problem. It's about her "vibes". Maybe people are overreacting because of the precedents. Reactions would be different five years ago, before the wave of annoying boss-girl MCs.
I think ND should have made an impressive gameplay trailer instead, as the GOW reveal.

I am not sure about the gaming SM2, but Morales movies are the best SM I recall. But there is not much w-ism there.
HBO is simply so good that even degrading it with quite a bit wokism doesn't devalue it completely.
The gay episode is probably the best in TLOU season 1. The protagonist girl is rather annoying, but then, so it was with the game TLOU.

I'm a fan of GoW, played about 60% of GoW:R. The woke stuff that I recall is that out of nowhere nonsensical POC girl, which I wish wasn't in the game to begin with (and I hope to see less of it in the remaining 40%) and a brief episode with a dwarven lady that can do amazing stuff with metal, proving that we didn't have female
Yeah, sorry it took me long to say a simple thing: there isn't much wokism in most of your examples and where it is, it makes things worse.

Women in their 40s, 50s, and even 60s in some cases, have never looked as good as they look today. As a 40 year old unmarried/single man with a 10 year-old kid, I don't find women in their 20s as attractive as a good looking 30, 40, or 50 year old. The generational culture gap is really hard to overlook for me to find them attractive. That said, I still would totally smash a 20-something year old that was into me, a relationship, though? She'd have to be really wise for her age for me to have one.

Big in the 80s and maybe early 90s. Thats when a lot of European or Aussie bands got big like U2, INXS, Roxette etc... I used to be a big New Order fan.
Disappeared after that when grunge music took off and they never recovered. Most music fans have heard of their 80s hits at some point, but most couldnt recognize one song the past 30 years. In my car, I have a bunch of sports stations and classic rock stations and top hits stations. I dont think I've heard one PSB song played on any of these music stations driving to work or around town since I bought my first car over 20 years ago. But for band like U2, that stuff is always played.

Single-player and multiplayer are different as well.
A person buying a single-player game knows they'll play it for 10-20 hours and then move on to something else.
When it comes to a multiplayer game, they're looking at and then comparing it to the shooters they're currently playing and Concord looked weak in comparison.

For me a lot of those kinds of bands had their best songs in the 80s or early 90s. The second the roughly mid 90s came they sucked.
Just skim their wiki discography. Look at their singles rankings and see which songs were big chart toppers way back then,
U2 is only good back then too. The second they did those shit songs and albums like popmart, that lemon song and the tomb raider song they sucked.
U2 is so big and mainstream they probably got #1 hits even now. Trust me. Just listen to their old stuff from around 35 years ago. Their big hits back then are way better than anything they’ve done past 20 or 30 years.

Also, part of the criticism was the missions themselves.
Name one person on earth playing a Spider-Man game wanted to play missions based on MJ? Instead, it happened and gamers just had to go through it as part of the game.

I believe they just re-scanned her face for Spider-Man 2. The actress has sharp facial features compared to when she was younger with a full face. On top of all of this, the character models in Spider-Man 2 are not that great compared to a lot of other triple A games.
No, people were upset that they made Black Cat bi. The mission was to help her to get her girlfriend in Paris.
The deaf mission was considered inclusive.
The side mission where you help a gay couple was considered woke.
Having to play as her wasn't the issue, they considered it woke because they made her powerful.
All of this added up to the game being "woke."
