lol....that's her personal politics so who cares? And the tweet misquoted her. She did not say "You can't just accept it, you MUST embrace it."
Yeah, I don’t care about someone’s personal politics or whatever. I can always separate the art from the artist. But when the artist can’t separate the two, that’s when I have a problem.

I’ve said many times before, I hate it all. I don’t care if you lean left, right, gender stuff, religious stuff. I just want to enjoy a game/movie/show without an agenda be shoved in my face.

People did dissect the video.

- Woke girl shaving her head right away

Youre acting like she turned to the screen and waved a trans flag and flashed a BLM shirt.

Thats not dissecting, that's projecting onto the trailer personal biases.

Nothing she did was woke. Shaved heads and other abnormal haircuts ave been a thing in sci fi for a million years, practically a hallmark of the genre

That's where you are wrong. It's not her personal politics, these kind of people want their politics to become your politics.

You are naive as hell if you think they won't inject their personal agenda in a game.

Yes, it is her personal politics. I don't have to agree with any of it so what they "want" is irrelevant. And she is an actress. Not a writer or director. If Druckmann wants to inject politics into the game, he will do that on his own as he has done in the past.

Its grummz, poisoning the well as he always does. Manufacturing outrage, encouraging you to think for yourself as little as possible

The interviewer asked her a question, she answered it. No relation to this game, but grummz wants you to attach your distaste for her politics to the game for no reason.

TLOU2 wasn't even that woke.
Oh Come On Jim Carrey GIF

Is this Niel Cuckman's first ip/ND game that isn't someone else's to Leech from (based Any Hennig)? Will be interesting to see how it comes out. I don't hold hope. Loved TLOA, didn't even bother with 2.

I agree. I wish they would leave all that shit out. The hubris of these people thinking anyone is paying them any attention for their social/political views is hilarious. What she said there has no impact on me buying or not buying the game.

I have never found Jamie Lee Curtis attractive but thought she looked pretty decent in the True Lies hotel dance scene
100% true.

Bad face and giant neck. And that part in True Lies where she and Arine get back to land after the helicopter rescue, she looks gross when she celebrates in the up close shot.

But pending the movie, hot milfy body.

Lool coming from Grummz ... a know grifter who has yet to finish his own game and has swindled hundreds of thousands from others

Who gives a fuck what the actresses political views are ??
Just what I was going to write about Grummz. It suprises me how people keep forgetting that.

What she says is her personal politics. Yes, there is a lot in the industry pushing that point of view as well, I agree. Not sure why anyone should care about what she says personally unless it makes its way into the game.
i mean, it's clear that there is a culture war (especially on the United States)... who should care?.
well, we have incidents like Gina Carano and Disney situation, Troy Leavitt and Hogwarts Legacy for example; in which their politics fuck their career up. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Which is his right to do so. But they shouldnt act surprised and blame toxic masculinity/fragility/bigotism when people don't buy their product.

Only reason it worked in TLOU2 is because his personal politics piggybacked on an already successful franchise. When done from scratch (Concord, dustborn... )it bombs. Which tells a lot.

People like to game to escape reality and not be preached about personal politics.

Yeah...I get it. Those are completely separate from this trailer though. As is that clip.

It’s funny she was brought up as my wife was watching some old movies and she loves John Travolta and this movies was on with JLC leading workouts there

And I don’t think the trailer gave off and “woke” vibes or an agenda. I do think the main character looks stupid, but good gameplay can have me look past a stupid protagonist.

That's what I'm interested in seeing with this game. With Spiderman 2 and Last Of Us 2 you had many people preordering and buying day one off the reputation of the first game not fully knowing what they were getting in the sequels. Much different this time. I expect it to be profitable, but meeting Sony's expectations on the investment is a different story.

Yep. Same here. If it is a kick ass game, I'm not going to fuss about her having a shaved head. The game is more important. If the game sucks, it won't matter either way.

It is tiring. I understand. The last several years have led to a certain sensitivity and I think it's justified - to an extent. But we turned into a magnet for the ones who can cross into rage territory at the drop of a hat. It's dominating not just individual discussions, but the whole vibe of the place.
I keep the ignore button strong. I try not to ignore individual users because even some of the ones who I hate their takes most of the time have some decent takes some of the time, but any topics of straight culture warring go to immediate ignore at this point. It’s just way too much and infects every single thread here.

The crazy thing is you can inject political views into things properly without causing such a big deal about it and it can be awesome.

Look at Robocop. It's literally a story of dehumanization and a huge critique of capitalism and violence in America.... made by a Dutchman.

But I love the movie to bits.

what this person is saying. ...That's the end goal.
are men going to be able to get pregnant in 100 years? are the concepts of men and women going to dissappear too?... 🤷🏼‍♂️ i dunno.

but im telling you.... this agenda is real AF.

This game is getting torpedoed before it even leaves the docks. My question is if you're going to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on a project, why would you put it at risk with a decision like this? Firstly, for those who worked on the game and want their work to be enjoyed, why would you do this to them? Put them in a situation where people will immediately discredit their work without ever trying it? For investors, why do you think that they'd be ok with such an unnecessary risk?

Launching a new IP is a risky enough venture as it is. If you make the game too generic then it risks appealing to no one. If you make the game too niche, it also significantly reduces your addressable market. This game has already been in development for 4 years and at the first trailer, a large percentage of people have immediately written it off. A huge disaster imo.

Another ND game thread turning to shit for no other reason than posters own biases and immaturity.

It's getting lame gents.

Trailer didn't do it for me. All the different cultural notes felt a little disparate. Lacked a little cohesion I think, but I am interested.

Man the "Everything is woke" mob is truly fucking insuffering.

Just infecting every corner of the internet with their fucking bullshit.

You guys see a woman and run the other way. Come out of the goddamn closet already. Goofs.
Honestly, they are now as annoying as the wokes themselves. Two sides of the same coin, imo.

Personally I felt the trailer was pretty cool. And knowing ND the game will be most probably be goated.

Don't gaslight yourselves. You can lie to others but never lie to yourself. You don't seek out an actress of this caliber except you felt she was a good fit for the type of story you're trying to tell.
ive got a little secret for you, this may hurt your feelings so be prepared. EVERYONE in hollywood is woke.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife

Maybe stop hiring people from fucking Hollywood then?

I dont get this trend of games having to resort to actors for their characters. Can't they just design and model their own characters?

I thought it looked decent other than the protagonist’s character design—a bald, non-binary looking woman with masculine shoulders and muscles, basically Abby 2.0, which is a turnoff because of the ideological implications, and, well, being unappealing in general. The woman on the FaceTime call also has a mismatched voice.

Otherwise, the ‘80s retro-future aesthetic is fine. Not much to go on yet.

Will the game be good? Sure, maybe. I’m ready for the world to go back to normal though.
Well said!

I think we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, I am positive it's not a train.

Thankfully, the game industry is not "Hollywood" yet.... I gave Hollywood $0 last year and plan to continue doing so until they make movies i like. That will be the same approach I take with devs who don't make games I like.

Just my 2 cents one fits the vibe of a bounty hunter living alone in space way better than the other
Put a face tattoo and some colored glasses on the hot chick and you’re set. Let the accessories tell you she’s a bounty hunter. Like how Samus’s suit tells you she’s a bounty hunter.
