Great deal on an android stick $24 for the stick and dock.
Then you fuckers got me afraid that all the amiibos that I liked were going to be bought up and never available again so I am slowly getting the ones that I like. Too bad the amiibos dont act like skylanders or infinity characters and let me play as them in the games.

I recently started collecting miscellaneous Bearbricks and Kidrobot stuff myself. I can't afford most KAWS stuff but I did manage to find a KAWS Kubrick Bus Stop set for cheap.

I don't know much in terms of the history of KAWS/vinyl toys as I've just started getting into it. I think it's just his style. He is essentially doing just what you said but there's probably a deeper meaning behind it that is sort of implied. For instance, another artist by the name of Ron English periodically redesigns popular characters such as fast food mascots, but he also applies social commentary to the designs (i.e. portraying Ronald McDonald as obese to comment on America/The World's fast food habits). People who aren't familiar with KAWS or don't know his history may find the character redesigns (without context) to be unoriginal.

TL;DR KAWS' style and early work in vinyl toys/streetwear has made him a very popular and well-respected artist, which is why his pieces typically have high price tags.

My new gaming rig! After years of sitting on the fence I'm no longer partial to only consoles. I managed to put together a build with a local shop that met my requirements of fitting into my existing entertainment cabinet. Very happy camper right now. I've been using it over the last couple of days and am extremely happy with it's performance thus far.

Had a digital subscription to the magazine before it closed down and always wanted to grab the back catalogue digitally. But the whole deleting of the store front for this magazine put a halt to that plan.

A nice little selection of pickups this week. Captain Toad dropped to a low enough price for me to take the plunge, while Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII was a cheap sale purchase to complete the FFXIII trilogy (and complement the £2 guide that I got from GAME a couple of weeks ago!).

Finally, Starwing will make a nice addition to my small SNES collection. I still love the Corneria music.


Oh, and I got a pre-order in for the Majora's Mask 3D 3DS XL - but clearly, the picture for that will need to wait for February's thread!
