I got my Lightning Cup Trophy yesterday my collection is going pretty good! Whether I will get enough points for the Banana cup (Or make another cooler trophy) in time is enough question however.

HOW ON EARTH DID YOU GET THESE?!?!

More Konami MSX pickups!

Comic Bakery. I had never played this game before. It's really quite adorable and plays very much like a Game & Watch game.

King's Valley II: The Seal of El Giza. I actually like the first King's Valley game more, but this is still a really nice game.

And then the Legend of Konami book by Matra. The book offers an extensive overview of all Konami MSX releases (even Korean bootlegs are described and shown), with a lot of pictures and some fun facts, many of which I didn't know about. The print quality of the book is very good. So pretty awesome for anyone interested in vintage Konami. Mind you: the book is plagued by a very poor use of the English language though. My own English is far from perfect, but this is just bad. Matra is a Spanish company, and clearly they have no native speakers on board, and no native speaking friends willing to review their writings either it seems. It's a shame really.

I came home with Y and Wind Waker, Lol......... and really, it does look way better than the videos / screens would make you believe.

There are so so many great things about this thread like seeing things people have picked up, old and new, that I didnt know even know existed! As a long time lurker, I love seeing everyone's pickups and sharing in your collective enthusiasm for all things gaming related and beyond.

BUT I have come to realise there are two major drawbacks of subscribing to this thread...
1) serious and considerable envy of nearly each and every purchase made by others. Even though I am really happy for you I should be a better person but damn, I want what you have just bought
2) and the subsequent hit my bank balance takes after seeing the cool stuff that I inevitably have the urge to buy.

All in all what I am trying to say, in a roundabout way, is thanks for posting folks and keep up the good work!!! I will make my own contribution to the joy/suffering (delete as appropriate) once I get my act together.

Definitely stay out of the Retro threads then!

Jack Flack always escapes!
here's the last 2 weekends worth. I went to the Portland Retro Gaming Expo and got a lot of streetpasses and a few games too, though most games were a bit overpriced so I stuck to the smaller stuff.

Crazy Taxi was free, I got it at the end of the retro game collector panel with Metal Jesus Rocks and John Hancock. They were passing out games and Drunken Master Paul nearly smacked me in the face when he threw me this game. :p

Also got these at PRGE. The genesis games were a mere $3 each so I grabbed them. I actually just bought the cart only for Bubble Bobble, I had the box and instructions since I was a kid, but lost the cart loooooong ago. It's nice to finally have it complete again.

The pink tagged items were 1/2 off this week, so I bought a couple more this weekend. My little Xbox collection has slowly been growing lately and I'm not even trying. Tales of Symphonia was full price though, about the average Ebay price minus shipping. I've decided to really work on my Gamecube collection this year and get at least one game a week, even if it's nothing spectacular.

Now THIS was the biggest surprise. I found a copy of Super Mario RPG at a Value Village this morning and it only cost $12.99. There were a lot of games there today, but I hit my limit for the week and just grabbed these two.

Free. This was a reward at the job for having a good quarter.

Junior, please.

Walking Dead bundle. I kind of wanted the white Assassin's Creed bundle, but it's sold out everywhere and the black is really growing on me. I think it's going to be more comfortable to look at.

Anyway, I'm so happy to finally have a Vita, it is exceeding my expectations so far. A real pleasure to use, it's kind of hard to put down. PS Plus is such a great deal.

Very very happy right now.

Some October reading...

Enjoying 'Salems Lot but it is dragging on a bit longer than I'd like it to.

Some sci fi...

Some game pickups. I'm digging all of them. I think I'll be done with ffxiv after my first month though. I've enjoyed my time with it but I don't think I can squeeze it in with all the upcoming games I want to play.
