Really looking like there's just emails between besties Huma and Hillary on this computer/account, they have no idea what is in them, if anything is relevant at all, or if anything is even new, and Comey just felt like the "prudent" thing to do would be to give Congress a heads up ten days before the election. FFS.

Democrats are so annoying. We worry about what people "could" think about. Republicans don't give a shit. They look for confirmation of beliefs they already have and shout from the roof tops whenever they can point to something as "proof."
Dems care about the truth. They care about their agenda.

I agree but we worry that people can't see the truth. We know this new FBI investigation will end up being another witch hunt but we are afraid that non-Trump supporters won't be able to see this. If it was Trump in this spot, Republicans wouldn't even bat an eye.

Yea the GOP doesn't give a shit about anything that "may make them look bad.

Pollster from Hart Research

While I don't think this will move the needle much. We won't see the ramifications of this until like Tuesday IMO.

Obama's stonewalling was about policy. Totally different than what they did to Bill.

Obama's stonewalling was about stonewalling Obama; it didn't matter what policy he put forth because they were always going to stop him on principle. The only reason they didn't do the exact same thing to Bill is because Republicans used to have a sliver of sanity. Now? You've got people like Ted Cruz who are constantly trying to pull the plug over every minor offense; 90's Republicans wanted smaller government, the ones we've got now want no government.

I fully expect more of the same, and congressional hearings every time Hillary scratches her ass. She may break the glass ceiling getting elected but she's gonna be stuck under a microscope lens for as long as she serves.

People on my facebook posting this as proof its rigged for Hillary.

With our luck if Hillary forces Comey to resign he'll trip down a flight of stairs and the next four years will be nothing but looking into "The Murder of Jim Comey"

Can someone give me a quick summary (or a link that explains it) of why ACA isn't being as effective as previously hoped?

What are they ways to fix it without going to a full blown public option or single player?

Trying to get myself more educated...

The lack of price controls is a big part of it. I am sure there are a ton of factors though/

I don't think it should be fixed. Public option is the solution.

LA Times is also reporting that most of the emails aren't even to or from Hillary, and have already been inspected:

The emails were not to or from Clinton, and contained information that appeared to be more of what agents had already uncovered, the official said, but in an abundance of caution, they felt they needed to further scrutinize them.

Comey is a mess.

a public option would dismantle the entire for profit insurance industry in the US, which is absolutely not a small amount of money.

the second you propose it, you will be swarmed with billions of dollars in negative ads and lobbying efforts to kick anyone who supports it out of office.

This is why hillarycare failed in the 90s. The industry opposed it, and spent an astronomical amount of money to successfully demonize it.

You want to propose something as dramatic as a public option, you need to accomplish campaign finance reform first- and that is itself a very high bar to clear.

in an abundance of caution.
already reviewed.

totally not partisan.

There was a tweet from Josh Marshall, editor of Talking Points Memo, a few hours ago, that said something like, 'I've been hinted at very strongly that Chaffetz was told about the emails and forced Comey to write the letter'.

It was deleted shortly after and replaced with a much milder tweet saying 'it could be that Chaffetz forced him to write the letter' ...

Guys, I can't stop thinking about the inevitable impeachment that's coming our way. We better be prepared.

And after 2018 midterms and everything is controlled by GOP again, can they actually succeed in impeaching her?

This all sucks. I was confident we'd get the Senate and make gains in the House and now I'm not expecting it. Will anything get done in the next 4 years? Ugh.....

Someone talk some sense into me because I think I'm back to bed wetting.

They even talked about it with Obama, but probably couldn't seeing as they found absolutely nothing to charge him with. They've suggested doing it for Benghazi, actions on imigration, and actions on access to school bathrooms, but you'd have to be all the way sold into the far right wing to think those were impeachable actions.

If the email thing came out after hillary became president, or if damning new information comes out after she's president, I could see them trying, but hopefully Hillary will keep clean enough that they can't do it no matter how much they want to.

The more that keeps coming out Comey will pretty much be forced to make a statement.

It seems these leaks are coming from within the FBI. I doubt they want their department to be treated like a political tool

You are out for blood lol

Dems need to stop giving a fuck about "how it looks." This is why we're constantly extending olive branches and constantly getting burned in return. Y'all say it all the time, fuck optics.

When the left, right, and FBI itself is furious at Comey at his blatant incompetence on such an important matter at such a critical time, there's no argument for him to stay on but...optics.

Fuck that. Give him the boot.

So anyone want some anecdotal stories?

Youngest kiddo and I did some phone banking this morning. Obviously, we're talking to the converted, but 3 people specifically mentioned the Comey thing. And all 3 were fucking livid. (All were women). None were mad at Hillary. One woman went on a lovely little tirade about how "Of course they would do this when it looks like the first woman is going to win!"

So, take that for the nothing that it's worth. Also, the older women got a kick out of the kiddo telling them why he wanted Hillary.

Yeah, it's leaks galore today. Newsweek also has sources saying the emails aren't to and from Hillary and aren't new. All just because out of "an abundance of caution".

My ass.

Somebody in the OT said that Josh Marshall hinted that there are rumors that Chaffetz pressured Comey to write the letter.
