That Cruz soup thing is just so fucking weird. It's like if Kang or Kodos tried to craft some kind of "charming" anecdote for their presidential run but did not properly understand human culture enough.

This was a few pages ago. But lol.

I don't know how anyone thought this was a good idea.

Is it socialism or capitalism to want people who overflow to have to pay for part of my seat.

It's amazing to me that folks say the media is bias against Sanders. Honestly if any other candidate in either party did that on top of the tax stuff they'd be on the hot seat, but Sanders? Nothing.

What kind of soup do you guys think Cruz likes better? Chicken feet or fish head?

all this tax talk is reminding me i've still never made enough in a year to actually need to file

Tuition on top of stipends fucked my shit up.

As far as I know, I wouldn't have had to actually file taxes until recently if tuition was paid off differently, but the way it was done for me made it so that I always had to do everything even before starting a proper job :/

Honestly I couldn't give two shits about tax returns or transcripts. The two things that really turned me off in last night's debate was Sanders saying he would ask Obama to withdraw his nomination of Garland (like, who are you?) and his complete and total shitting of the bed with guns.

Honestly because no one cares. His goose is cooked. It's more interesting to report on potential lady Gaga collaborations with various posthumous male artists

I expect backslashbunny will probably have a gander at the tax return sometime, we can wait for analysis from the backslashlab then

Largest refund I ever got was this year, at 600 dollars.

The last few years, living at my parents, I was making 17 dollars in returns a year.

This year with the mortgage deduction from my house, making less royalties on my TF2 items, along with some new energy efficient improvements I made, I ended up at 600.

Next year will probably go back to 50-100, because those energy upgrades have a life time cap of 500 dollars and I hit it this year with a new furnace, AC and new windows...

I'm a dirty poor. Got back $400. Felt good. I've been barely getting by with the living situation. Can't wait to get out. Definitely saving that return for, ahem, banking if you know what I mean.

Now that we're married, husband and I filed jointly for the first time in 19 years. Refund right under $3000. Pisses me off realizing how much inequality has cost us.

Well you should always file even if you didn't earn enough, else you are just leaving money on the table.

well, if we want to get technical here

2013-14 has been the only filing year so far where i've earned a non-trivial amount of money (as in more than $400), and
the refund that time was smaller than Trump's hands, in large part because most of it was from contract work

This might be the first year I get anything back honestly. In the past contract work has always been a significant enough portion of my income that the taxes there wiped out any refund I would get, but this year I really only have about 3k in contract work from the beginning of the year, I might *gasp* break even

I owe $2k this year which was down from $10k last year due to inadequate withholding and getting screwed by my contract employer.

No, no, no. I wasn't saying this was on purpose! Honestly. Jus5 with so few openly gay lawmakers I found it weird.
Eldridge isn't going anywhere though. A rich 20-something gay man from Canada who made his money by marrying the co-founder of Facebook isn't going to catch fire in upstate New York.

New Yorker lives in my dorms and I basically forced him to get him his absentee ballot because democracy~. He's probably the only straight white male on a college campus voting for Hillary.

damn must be rich

No, we just have dual incomes so we need to withhold extra.

Also that year the startup I was working for folded and the COO called me on the phone and said "do you just want to keep that laptop and iPad as severance?"

I didn't realize he was asking so that he could book them as compensation to me at market value so that I would have to pay 22% on them next year.

So that was annoying. The DoL should really crack down much harder on fake contractors (which is most of them).

tl;dr TRUMP 2016 TELL IT LIKE IT IS
