They have no control over him. This is what you deserve, GOP. I hope he burns your party's aspirations for a generation to come.

Yglesias' take on his speech:

But the brief section — amounting to just over 150 words — in which Trump did talk about foreign policy as such was a mess. Over the course of seven sentences, Trump managed to contradict himself, distort his own record of statements on the relevant issues, and undermine the key policy plank — a ban on Muslims entering the United States — on which he’s built his entire national security agenda.

Trump just revoked The Washington Post's press credentials.

Take note media: this is what happens when you enable a fascist.

But who am I kidding? This will just cause the rest of the media to turn up their ass kissing.

I'm a little bit depressed today because I am not sure we'll ever get meaningful gun control in the United States and, absent anybody else's great plan for resolving the alienation and anger in our society, that means mass shootings will just keep happening. All the arguments over whether people understand what guns they're banning or whether it's a Constitutional right or whether mental illness needs to be investigated are just kind of distractions from the reality that America is the only country where there are regular and consistent random mass murders. There is clearly something we could do to be a country where this doesn't happen, but whatever it is, we are unwilling to even identify what it is, much less fix the problem.

It's not super cool to raise a child in such a world. I am not sure why we have given up as a society.

When those children were killed in Newtownand nothing changed was when I accepted that proper gun legislation changes in this country, on a national level, is a ways away.

That doesn't mean we won't eventually get there. We haven't given up nor will give up. But it's going to take a lot of time, sweat, and tears until we make real progress.

But at least we can make progress in some states and cities.

Don't let go just yet, pigeon.

Trump is 99% of the way to calling Obama a Muslim terrorist in this:

“Well, you know, I’ll let people figure that out for themselves Howie,” Trump said on the Howie Carr Show. “Cause to be honest with you there certainly doesn’t seem to be a lot anger or passion when he – when we want to demand retribution for what happened over the weekend.”

“There was certainly not a lot of passion,” continued Trump. “There was certainly not a lot of anger. You know, I’ll let that, we’ll let people figure it out. But it’s very, very, it’s a very sad situation when we have the kind of a tragedy that we had and we have a president that gave a press conference and talks about gun control. This was a licensed person, who could have had a gun anyway.”

I often wonder to myself if post-Sandy Hook legislation could have happened with a moderate Republican president? There is nothing worse that could happen than Sandy Hook, but fear of liberals taking away guns kept anything from happening.

I try to hypothesize fantasy scenarios in my head because that seems the only way for it to happen. Things like a Republican President's child's school is shot up, with a Democratic Congress. Could even that overcome the NRA lobbying? Even to just pass background check legislation?

I'm too young to understand the political climate that brought about the Assault Weapons Ban in the 90's. That seems like pure fantasy to me now.

This was Trump's comment:

I am no fan of President Obama, but to show you how dishonest the phony Washington Post is, they wrote, "Donald Trump suggests President Obama was involved with Orlando shooting" as their headline. Sad!

Even though that's pretty much exactly what he implied multiple times. Even though he was very careful not to say the exact words. I suppose this was the closest he's ever come to effectively dog whistling instead of just saying something absolutely terrible.

Reagan supported it. Part of the reason gun control happened in the early 90s is that Reagan was nearly assassinated, and an assistant of Reagan's (James Brady, of the Brady Bill), was badly wounded and ultimately died (decades later) from the wounds he received.

I'm really starting to think Trump is trying to fuck so bad that the GOP is forced to kick hum out at the convention.

Nothing he is doing or saying makes sense.

I mean if saying to a group of donors that you're going to waste their money on the most solid blue states as solid red become swing stateset doesn't send the message I don't know own what will

He might be asked about that article specifically and double down on his suspicion. I don't doubt that he will continue to make Obama out to be connected to terrorists. Funny that Republicans might condemn him and defend Obama.

He already doubled down, calling Obama a secret Muslim who supports terrorism.

Has anybody ask him about his statement "did you mean to imply he purposefully looked the other way while Americans were murdered, or were you implying he had direct ties to jihadi terrorism?"

" neither" well then what DID you mean? In your own words.

The guy goes back and forth on his word so many times, and at others he acts like he flat out didn't say exactly what he said.

I wonder if he genuinely has a mental disorder of some nature.

HAHAHAHAHA

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...rs-ago-republican-hillary-president/85795082/

In 2006, when a judge ordered Donald Trump's casino operation to hand over several years' worth of emails, the answer surprised him: The Trump Organization routinely erased emails and had no records from 1996 to 2001. The defendants in a case that Trump brought said this amounted to destruction of evidence, a charge never resolved.

At that time, a Trump IT director testified that until 2001, executives in Trump Tower relied on personal email accounts using dial-up Internet services, despite the fact that Trump had launched a high-speed Internet provider in 1998 and announced he would wire his whole building with it. Another said Trump had no routine process for preserving emails before 2005.

Judge Jeffrey Streitfeld was stunned. “He has a house up in Palm Beach County listed for $125 million, but he doesn’t keep emails. That’s a tough one,” he said, according to transcripts obtained by USA TODAY. “If somebody starts to put forth as a fact something that doesn’t make any sense to me and causes me to have a concern about their credibility in the discovery process, that's not a good direction to go, and I am really having a hard time with this.”

.@JohnCornyn still has Trump moratorium intact. Asked how Trump has handled Orlando, he answers: "There you go again, asking about Trump."

Oh boy.Going to be a long week.

And 5 months.

I need to get out of the south ASAP. Some of the crazy shit that is said down here in Mississippi just makes my skin crawl.

We almost ended-up living right outside of Hattiesburg, but decided (for multiple reasons) that if we had to live in the South, it'd be in a liberal city. Not a day goes by where I'm glad we made this change. Some of the things you hear - especially behind closed doors - is nasty. And given that the South is where much of the GOP's power base is, it definitely influences my perception of certain political orgs/party/etc.

I know it's small but seeing pride flags in Watch_Dogs 2 really shows progress. I hope it comes out on Wii U. 😀

Because if Trump doesn't like Wapo that probably means I should read it more....
Six silly lies that Trumpkins tell themselves

There are plenty of things worse than four years of Clinton with a GOP majority in one or both houses or a generation. One would be Trump in the White House. Another would be converting the GOP into a European-style National Front party.

You know what that means?
That means a party that hold no State, nearly no towns and barely any seats in the congress.
I don't know if they mean that but that is something dreams are made off.

I knew Trump would make himself look real bad over this, but I had no idea he could get this low.

I guess this man's insanity and bigotry has no floor.
