There's no way you can tell the difference just looking at it, but if you have a controller in your hands you can tell pretty easily.
I need webms for full impact.
Not a very good sampling because of how they were made. Take the DIRT footage, for example. It's clear that the original video was recorded at 60fps, and all he did was cut out every other frame to make the 30fps version, which also cuts the motion blur in half, leading to a more "juddery" image than the game itself actually has at 30fps.
I think the VR movement is going to help with the push for more 60fps games.
Anyone who says the human eye can't see above 30fps is full of shit.
How is WebM going to have a greater impact than MP4 video...?
Anyone who can't tell the difference is in bliss. Save you money and worry.
Now make 30vs60vs120 next.
60fps is like a slideshow in comparisonWith any luck, soon we'll be doing "60 vs 120" debates. I can't wait.

I agree. There's no way you can tell the difference just looking at it, but if you have a controller in your hands you can tell pretty easily.
I don't see the difference.
I'm so sorry.
I see the difference and prefer the 30fps. Has that cinematic look.
Maybe it's just my browser. I can easily tell the difference between something like a game trailer on YouTube vs the 60fps version on Gamersyde, but this site really doesn't seem to do a good job of properly illustrating the difference. Yeah, the right side is a bit smoother, but it doesn't seem quite right.
It's pretty good.120 must be a thing of beauty, I had an old CRT that went up to 90hz and it was amazing playing UT99 on that thing. Hell even looking the screen in general feels better with a higher hz.

I can tell the difference
I don't understand when people say they can't tell 30 from 60 fps when they are playing it.
30fps feels like moving through treacle compared to 60fps.
It's pretty good.
From a visual standpoint in most cases I falloff around 90 I think, but haven't tested it in any extremes, just normal movement.
If anyone is interested: ASUS 144Hz $265
Aren't faster machines able to better render 60fps VIDEOS whereas a weaker rig has a difficult time showing the difference between 30-60?
i dont see a difference here (or in any videos for that matter), but I can definitely see and feel the difference when actually playing the games.
"Games are unplayable at 60 FPS! Anyone who claims to be able to tolerate 60 FPS is FULL OF SHIT!!!!"
Can't wait.
Yeah, it does make a difference playing a game, but if a game is locked at 30fps. I'm totally fine with it. It won't stop me from enjoying the game.See, this is a problem here. Your eyes may prefer what they want to prefer, but its what you expect when playing a game that matters. We are used to watching movies at 24fps so 30fps is more "cinematic" because of that. However, 60fps is more preferred when playing a game than watching a video about it.
This argument will never be won because your expectations and reality will never match.
I always prefer 60fps but if a game is 30fps locked then I'm happy as well.
I have to agree with another poster here, 60fps looks more "cartoonish" (I don't know how to describe it, it just looks too smooth?) than the 30fps. 30fps has a cinematic feel to it. But 60fps is definitely smoother and I would take that in shooters especially.
