Wasn't there a rumor that MS had more than one devkit setup out there? Maybe one with 8GB DDR3 and one with 4GB GDDR5 that could have seen a bump to 8GB GDDR5? Could have sworn I read that (the different approaches). Maybe I dreamt it.
Some devs like to see the world burn.
Not the smart ones or those who have a life and a family to feed, no.
If real this would be one of the biggest leak trolls on the Internet.
Yeah, but I doubt it's real. I'm prepared for an 8 Core Jaguar, 1.2 TFLOP GPU, 8GB DDR3/32MB eSRAM Xbox. I just want to see what the games look like on that.

Oh, I'm waiting...as patiently as possible...but I have my fears from the rumors.
Ilherre still has his job.
Possible.Well... I dunno. Someone took over his account and continued posting for him while he sleeps with the fishes?
do you know anything? are you a ms insider?Don't set the bar so low.
C'mon. You actually know already, perform the proper action.Account bets are awesome.
this is how i feel.I wouldn't fear, even if the rumors are true... The rumored machine is something like 6-8 times more powerful than the 360. No matter which way you slice it, it's going to have some amazing looking games. Just look at the latest batch of current gen games and think about the hardware they were made with.
The PS4 may have a simpler approach to its hardware design, but that won't necessarily make it the better way. It remains to be seen, and we can only judge based on the games.
There's a lot of interesting things in the VGLeaks documents (assuming they are true) that provide clues if you piece them together.
For example, if you look at the overall memory bandwidth, it is at 170 GB/s, barely lower than the PS4. It does require additional work from the developer, but developers are clever beasts, and it's not a totally new crazy thing that they've never dealt with before. If developers are still having trouble getting perf, the easiest knob for any developer to turn is the resolution. That reduces the size of all of your frame buffers, which makes it faster to send across to the GPU. MS has apparently thought about this scenario with the use of display planes. Even if a developer has to reduce the frame buffer from 1080p to 960p (making up numbers), they can use the secondary display plane to still display all of the UI and text at full 1080p so everything still looks really crisp. And honestly, unless you're digital foundry counting pixels, I don't think most people would even know there's a difference that the game frame buffer is not full 1080p (and honestly, I still expect there to be a lot of games at the start running at 720p on both platforms). I can't tell which resolution any of the current gen games are running at for example, and I still think a lot of them look gorgeous. It's just something I don't think about.
It's totally possible that there was a hardware change though, but it just seems so unlikely considering they're a matter of months from manufacturing these boxes and they need to be fully tested.
11 more days until (hopefully) all will be revealed!
I think he knows something. He will deny though so dont even bother askingdo you know anything? are you a ms insider?

It's getting warm in here. 'Member of Blizzard leaking' rumors article incoming.
Nope, I actually am at Blizzard. I am a fan, and I do help to create the movies, so I guess you can say I help to create fan-made movies :lolGuessing he works with one of the groups that makes fan-made movies using the engine. Obviously one of the better groups that now gets commissioned by Blizzard to do official vids for them. You speak it like you represent Blizz?Vustadumas said:Yeh, our guys did an awesome job on the Wrathgate cinematic! Glad you guys are digging it.![]()
star 2 panel starting soon! Show is kick ass so far!! Can't wait for everyone to see new cinematic!!!!!! Hope you guys like it!!
See ya guys there!I'll be happy to autograph anything you like :lol
I'll give an account of what I see tomorrow. Most likely the bottom of many a beer bottle![]()
I'll be there, just like every year. I plan to drive my car, like always![]()
Wasn't the PS4's 8 GB of RAM a surprise to everyone outside of Sony until the uneveil?
what isnt adding up? plz ellaborateI know that something isn't adding up.
Gemüsepizza;57376522 said:That has been explained already a couple of times. This was possible because Sony's design allowed it. They just had to use memory chips with higher densities. It's very different with Microsoft's design, they can't do much to improve it without radically changing processors/other parts, which takes a lot of time to do. And we probably would have seen leaks if they did that, because it isn't a last minute change.

It gets even more believable when he's admitted to working at Blizzard as a cinematic animator in the past.
September 24th, 2008 post:
And he's posted that he's attended Blizzcon events as a developer and is allowed into the E3 showfloor:

And there are other posts that hint at him being a member of the games industry / animator, have friends who work in studios, etc.
Probably. Watch_Dogs isn't too impressive graphically. We've only seen it on PC at "next gen specs" anyway. Since it's cross gen I expect it to be very similar on both next gen systems. We won't see much of a difference until games are built from the ground up for next gen.Look at the footage of Watch Dogs on PS4.
You think a 1.2TFLOP GPU, 8GB DDR3 + ESRAM, and a copy pasta of the PS4 CPU is enough to deliver smooth gameplay like the PS4 version?

I do, while the 720 might not be as strong as the ps4, I believe they can pull that off.Look at the footage of Watch Dogs on PS4.
You think a 1.2TFLOP GPU, 8GB DDR3 + ESRAM, and a copy pasta of the PS4 CPU is enough to deliver smooth gameplay like the PS4 version?
And it's just targeting 30fps.
Man this thread feels like coldwar Berlin.
Wow, hmmm, he could just be BSing everyone though.

Yup, it's just a matter of what they have to rip out to do so.
Gemüsepizza;57377648 said:I think he does not necessarily need deep knowledge of specs if he is primarily working on animations for the cinematics. Maybe he is really just guessing.
Nobody should want another gen of multiplat downgrades.

they won't have to rip anything out. That might be great looking but its not pushing the PS4 to its limit.Yup, it's just a matter of what they have to rip out to do so.
