You get all that from a
4...
minute...
cutscene...

With 5 seconds of gameplay, is something, I guess.....
Nah, I get all that from the character design, ND's past history, his public statements, the actresses public statements, TLOU2, etc. There's sufficient paper trail to raise an eyebrow at this shit. If this was the first time Naughty dog pulled off something like this, they'd get the benefit of the doubt.
?

I don't get it? The post I made prior is on topic of this thread and merely to see why they may have chosen that hair cut for the character.

The irony of even saying something like "shame/bully/peer pressure people"

You are attacking and bullying users on here for just talking about the game...
Lol, do you want me to bring up your post history because you literally have pages of posts on this thread. And lets not forget the stealth trolling you've been doing on here. Trying to play victim is laughable.

As far as I know, it's been a week or two?

Either way, if he's joining as an art director for this game, it would seem it's really, really far away still. 2027 or later seems to be a pretty safe bet. Which is actually insane.

Gaming isn't sustainable. This isn't sustainable. 7 years for an organized team to work on a game? What?

Fuck that. This is nuts. Whoever thought "ok, this is a reasonable timeline" in any dev team around the world is an insane person.
very likely not if you're in the console-selling business, as that'd be one game per console generation:

Here are the release dates for some PlayStation consoles:
  • PlayStation: Released in Japan on December 3, 1994, and in North America on September 9, 1995. It was Sony's first entry into the home gaming console market.

  • PlayStation 2: Released on March 4, 2000.

  • PlayStation 3: Released in Japan on November 11, 2006, and in North America on November 17, 2006.

  • PlayStation 4: Released in North America on November 15, 2013.

  • PlayStation 4 Slim: Released on September 15, 2016.

  • PlayStation 5: Released in select territories on November 12, 2020, and globally on November 19, 2020.

Also seeing people calling it 'Concord Beebop'.

Naughty Dog should probably say a little more about what the game is before this kind of thing sticks.

? what does any of this have to actually do with this thread or this game?

So..I'm sorry man, most of your post seem to be this deeply personal thing of fighting users and arguing about world views etc...

You can talk to yourself for a bit man, I just wish to speak about the game, not what ever emotional trip you happen to be on.

Added to ignore.

That's over 2.5 million views in 2 days. Those down voters will be extremely pissed once they see how well this game preforms.
"Preforms"? We've heard this song and seen this dance before. It doesn't go the way you think it will. I can't wait to see what they put out for the gameplay and story reveal. We shall see how they plan on reversing the current negative sentiment but to try and handwave away that negative sentiment is a recipe for disaster.

Ugh.
Not digging the already stale 80's aesthetic. How about something electrifying and forward thinking? They must have a bunch of world class artists and this is what they've come up with. Man.
And the contrived androgynous protagonist? Something must be blatantly wrong with me as I enjoy being inspired by the best of humanity and lose myself in the fantasy of it. Equally driven by the female or male energy and aesthetic - but embodied by the likeness of it.
... Who the fuck gets inspired by a strong chinned women, what the fuck. I can't believe even women look up to this. Why is this a thing. Is this what upcoming generation of girls are into? Is my son out of luck when he'll get to dating age? I have so many questions.

If your son managed to nab a girl like Tati, you should consider yourself lucky, cuz he will have fucking scored.

One of my favourite studios possibly creating a second flop in a row. Or it's not the same studio anymore.

Second flop?
What was the first flop?

It'll sell. Naughty Dog have established way too large a reputation for this game not to do... pretty damned well, at least. Unless they start releasing stuff about it that features the main character lecturing NPCs on how to use the right pronouns.

Which it won't. Naughty Dog know how to write.

Maybe, maybe not.

I think if they have a marketing path where they slowly dripping out info about the game, they should follow it. The trailer already has millions of views and I don't know if it makes sense for Sony to react to all things around Youtubers.

For millions, the game will be based on what Naughty Dog states vs a Youtuber
Damn. She's smoking in that pic.
I like her in everything lol

I'll play and if the character's hair grows I'll go to the machine again. It's her hair, not mine, the characters in the game are characters, that's all.

''I'm not going to play this game, I'm going to bankrupt ND'' Sweet illusion, who said that ND put you as the target audience for this game? lol fighting against the wind talking about a game that you want to play but can't because the bogeyman

This game will sell millions of copies around the world and only you will be harmed because you fell into a trap where every game for you is bad, wake up guys, are you going to stop playing an incredible game, this is hysteria this is a trap for your mind.

In years gone by I would have 100% agreed with you, but games journalism has so consistently and utterly shit the bed repeatedly in the last few years, that gaming YouTubers now have a much larger influence on gamer's tastes and buying decisions. As does social media commentary.

The questions is not whether it will sell or not. The game will obviously sell. Whether it'll sell well or not is the real question. If it cost 400 million to launch this IP and they bring in 100 million in revenue, it's still sold but sold poorly. Given that this is Naughty Dog, I don't expect this game to be cheap to develop at all. They've already been working on it for 4 years and it may not be out for another year to three years. Like I said, let us see how they plan on reversing this negative sentiment because make no mistake about it, the sentiment is overwhelmingly negative. It's negative on youtube, negative on twitch, etc. Even in the bluesky style places like ERA, some are daring to beat around the bush while trying to avoid an instantaneous ban.

Sure, but we've seen them overact about a lot of things and been wrong

Far Cry 5
Even acting as of Battlefront from EA was just going to flop and it ended up breaking every record imageable
or even that Call Of Duty that got all those downvotes, still moved well over 20 plus million units.

I'm sure they have some influence, but not to the tune of millions upon millions.

This game will live and die based on its own merit with gamers.

If Youtubers had this wild influence, Call Of Duty and Assassin's Creed should not be breaking records with units sold, all Youtubers do is shit on those series lol but 25 to 30 million gamers are not making their choice to buy such games solely based on that.

Have you played a ND game over the last 10 years? Have you noticed how beloved their games are?

TLOU2's gameplay was one of the best from last generation.

The negative sentiment will probably be nullified by a look at what the actual game is.

If nothing else, this is yet again another great example of why announcing your game with just a CG trailer is never a good idea. They should all do what Sony Santa Monica did with God Of War 2018. That was a masterpiece of a reveal.

But all of these haircuts were meant to dehumanizethe woman. Be it prision or military service. They were not elective fashion statements.

The bald asian chick in Alien:Romulus was probably an homage to sigoury in Alien 3

That hairstyle is probably meant to show that Jordon is a no nonsense all business lady but personally I find it very distasteful for a woman. Just do the pixie cut or cornrows if you don't want to animate hair much.

Look at the scarring all on her head. A traumatic event caused that and is probably why her head is shaved. The bottom picture is showing her with hair.

lol I wonder how Old Sony would deal with this?

Let me remind folks, Sony cancelled Eight Days and The Getaway 3 based on feeling they had too many 3rd person shooters, with Uncharted, Infamous, God Of War etc

Maybe Sony feels the genres are different enough and gamers are smart enough to know the difference from a online FPS title and a single player driven narrative or something.

semi OT, I really need The Getaway 3 rebooted so I can start saying bruv to people!

Did you even play concord? It wasn't a bad game at all and to call it horrible actually makes me question your statements. Concord was technically sound, it controlled well and the gameplay was alright. It was just generic af chasing a trend that people had long moved on from.

Yes I played and own TLOU2 ps4/5, TLOU1 ps3/4/5, Lost Legacy ps4, Uncharted 1-3 ps3, The uncharted collection ps4, Uncharted 4 ps4, etc. In the last 2 years, I've replayed Uncharted 1-3 multiple times, replayed TLOU once, Lost legacy once, but I have 0 desire to replay TLOU2. Even the remaster which I purchased couldn't convince me to go back and play it. The game mechanics in TLOU2 are good but the encounter design for me is just bad. It's a game I thoroughly disliked.

The negative sentiment will probably be nullified by a look at what the actual game is.

You may be right, you may not be. We shall see but if TLOU2 is anything to go by, I'm not so sure. That game spent a lot of time beating a dead horse plot wise and trying to preach to me so lets see if they've learned anything at all.

Don't like anything from Naughty Dog except the first Last of Us which still isn't on my top 100. Not into the character at the moment but the whole 80s verse theme got me interested. I hope they'll truly make it feel like a alternate 80s verse like what their description says as in culture, style, music character designs, setting etc etc throughout the whole game. Depending on how well they do it, this could either be a extremely awesome game and a big nice surprise or a huge disappointment.

I went on a huge 80s movie watching spree since 2020 and I absolutely love everything during that era even as someone born after it. Easily my favorite and would really want to play a whole game based on that era so this will be a wait and see for now as I'm going to give it a chance to show more.

God Of War 2018 haha go back to ND reveal of uncharted 2 all the way up to TLOU2. You can watch past reveal video reactions of all their games. It's always been super positive except for this one except fo gaf and other anti woke channels.

It's going to underperform, disappointing or downright bomb.

At this moment, the only ones buying are hardcore Sony/ND simps, not even casual Sony/ND fans would touch this game

But they have 2-3 years to work on the image, so we'll see

Concord was a GAAS game that had the design of a game from 2014. People don't want those type of games anymore and it was clear. Plus the art in the game was TERRIBLE!

The art in this game is already better than what we seen In Concord.

Anyone claiming the character on the right is "obvious female" is lying.
She just looks normal. If you've ever seen Vietnamese or Filipino women its really nothing that usual. They're largely invisible in mainstream western pop culture. Maybe that one girl that was in Star Wars 8 is about it. I guess this girl is half black half Korean. With a jacket on, that's just literally how she looks. She shaves her head. I think they bulked her arms up a bit and that looks bad, but that's about it. I think people are just really unused to seeing mixed race people I guess.

I shave my head. Everyone likely has a scar or two on their head like that, they just don't know it. Hair covers it up. A scar like that is nothing and has nothing to do with deciding to shave your head.

95% of people would say this is a female.
Not in the pic in the tweet I replied to. She looks a lot more female in your pic. But also looks like a freak.

If someone has unsightly features, the normal thing to do is cover it up like growing hair out to cover a bald spot or scar. Or someone in an office with tattoos to wear a long sleeved shirt, and someone with a nose ring to not put it on till they get home.

I think the scar has to do with like her past battles, like she has been in some fire fights or something and the shaved head is based on that narrative, like they've done crime, stole money and she must hide her identity

Like the picture could be them celebrating some score

Now you're saying the art is the reason or that it had game design from 2014? A game can have game design from 2014 and still not be horrible. People go back and play old games like BF4 for example despite it having old game design. Space Marine 2 has old game design as well. Concord wasn't a horrible game at all. It's like a 7-8/10 game but the audience for that game didn't exist anymore. They chased a trend and by the time the game released, the trend was dead. You claiming it's a horrible game tells me that you actually never played the game. In fact, you're not even qualified to discuss why the game failed at all based on the thoughts you've put forward so far.

Will Naughty dog reach those levels with this IP? I sincerely doubt it but will it be a success? That depends on if they're able to reverse the overwhelmingly negative sentiment.

While the game is definitely taking a lot of time, I don't think you can determine it from that. Nate Wells, art director of The Last of Us, joined Naughty Dog 10 months before the game was released.
I personally think this aiming a release for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026.

Bro they animated her putting on a jacket, you think they didnt/dont have the skill to animate hair?
I'm sure they do. So why the choice to have her shaved bald instead of hair, even a close cut? Its a STATEMENT to do it that way. Just what that statement is....remains to be seen.

The actress has been rocking short hair for a minute and actually is quite gib.

5c0b323c600f0b6280da52.41755541_.jpg
Not shaved bald though. Haircuts mean things. Buzzcut or flattop = military. Close cut but stylized means business, don't wanna deal with messing with hair. All shaved for a woman, very rare cut and usually brings certain associations, typically aggression, suffering, or deliberate counter-culture. Can also mean attention seeking.

With her hair texture it would not grow back like that. You're actively ignoring the photo at the bottom. She would have patches all throughout her hair with huge balding spots. It's either that or wear a wig for the rest of your life. Those are DEEP scars and not just some nicks from a razor or clippers.

The trailer is bad. Is bland. It has lots of references that don't land. 80's anime, tech and movies... Can creatives move away from guardians of the galaxy? The brands? lame.. A red jacket and a red spaceship does not bring up the charisma of Akira or the Swordfish from Spike Spiegel.

The character I suspect cuts his hair for some 'lore' reason like the nutjobs in tlou2.

This trailer felt like a wasted opportunity.

The fact that you are arguing that Concord was generally received well is laughable. The core mechanics were decent, but the game design was REALLY REALLY bad.

Having decent mechanics is not something ND has. And on top of that the excel at everything most single player games don't.
