One Piece Treasure Cruise |OT| Golden Hammer ---God--- Usopp

I think I lucked out maxing GP Usopp the first time it was possible. I don't have some other key guys maxed like Mihawk or Garp, but I tend to use Usopp more than either of those so hooray.

I have mine at 13 CD. I'm going to go all out there. I'll gem if necessary.

I mean, they do drop, it's just annoyingly inconsistent, as with Kuro. Sometimes you get 2 in a row, other times, 20 runs for nothing. I ended up getting more out of Elite than Expert, despite the odds supposedly being identical.

The XP, as Cloggerdude says, plus other goodies make Duck Squad a far better farming spot than Kuro, though. Lots of porcs. It'd be great if we got Ability Orbs early, because all the duck drops can slot abilities in the Duck Squad evolution, plus Dugongs and Lapin, turning them all into worthwhile healing subs. Especially Lapins, with the low-cooldown healing special.

At least the EXP rate will be higher though.

Yeah, about the only good thing Kuro Elite has going for it is that Mihawk, Law, and Apoo Captains can blast through it quickly. Duck Squad takes a little while with all the binding of units and big HP monsters, even on Elite.

I am stupid and double-post.

Gear 3 and Law team guides are now up. The Gear 3 guide is especially interesting, since I didn't think the teams would end up working as well as they do:

http://www.onepiecestrategy.com/p/ivankov-strategy-guide_18.html#ViableTeams

Gonna get through Ray and WB teams, and then I think I'll be done. It's not like most people are going to farm Ivankov anyway.

Feel free to tell me how my teams don't work because of some small detail I forgot about. I love when you guys do that.

No really, it does help out, even if it does make me want to scream.

Edit: Whitebeard and Rayleigh guides are now up too. They're basically the same thing, so they didn't take long. Just need to polish up some things in the Mihawk and Ashura Zoro guides, and then we'll be ready for prime time.

Your first Law team mentions Mihawk and Apoo in the cooldown section, but neither of them are on the team listed there. :)

I think she's supposed to be useful in the Duck Squad fortnight, so she'll get one last hurrah, at least. I still need to get another 10 levels or so on mine to get her to the final evo.

Also, that fortnight apparently has GP Usopp and Marco books, so I'll be farming the hell out of that one.

My Marco's nearly maxed, but I really really need me some GP books so that's nice.

Just got mine during the Whitebeard 2 sugo, so this'll be my first chance (unless Lucci comes back before Duck Squad). But I suspect it's the sort of ability that can be used in lots of teams, so it'll be worth maxing.

Of course, that makes me want to max Garp too, just to have a super-tanky PSY team...so much to do...

hmm looks like I really got to raise some levels. I don't mind spending a gem or five if it guarantees getting the character at least.

here's what I've got to work with (I always love being able to see my collection all at once, this is the perfect game for hoarders T_T)

You might have better luck running the 30 Stamina version. It's much more forgiving and you still have a ~40% chance of him dropping.

My guide only applies to the 40 stamina version. That reminds me that I need to make that more clear on my site.

Yeah, as always, there's nothing wrong with just making sure you get the raid boss character the first time around, and waiting til subsequent appearances to actually max them (even moreso with Ivankov, who will mostly just be used for his stats as opposed to his special or captain ability).

Man, every time I look at Ivan to try and find a cool niche for him, I get confused as to why his special wants me to build QCK/DEX/STR teams while his captain ability wants QCK/DEX/INT teams. Such a weird ability set.

Damn. Looking at the Ivankov strat, I have MAX Coffin and Mihawks, but my Izo and Kalifa are at 19 turns. Shouldn't I just be able to take more hits from the initial penguin, since I have HP to spare?

Yup. That's one of the things I'm going to Polish up. Make it so that there are different options for people with different cooldown. I started doing it in the Law guide, but I had already finished Mihawk's.

Edit: You guys are always my guinea pigs before I release my guides to the public. =P

Is Ivankov used for any particular fortnight or strategy btw?

high HP aside I'm wondering if iva's essential for anything.

Noooooooooooope. Not yet at least. I seriously doubt he ever will be either.

Which is why I start to wonder why I spent so much time on this guide, haha. I just kind of got sucked into it.

If you've got Capone, they can combine to give your whole team QCK orbs (though you'll need to bring Valentine along as well to make it work 100% of the time). That's about it, though. I think most people will just use him as a strong QCK member.

I think they intended him to encourage general rainbow teams. Using his captain skill, you can use a DEX, INT, and QCK unit (likely Iva himself) to set up a 2.75 attack boost, so your last 3 units can do a lot of damage. Basically a more limited, weaker G3. I don't think it's seen much use though.

In that case I might skip Iva for now, I don't think I have a proper team for iva-crushing so why bother on a skippable raid boss anyway lol.

Great. Seems there's quite a bit variance with Ivankov, even moreso in Japan, where anything + Doofy seems to be a win button against QCK.

Yeah really. Doffy would make this boss a cake walk if he was available. Seems like he makes most bosses a lot easier, which is why I'll be putting a ton of work into my Doffy guide. I've actually got a lot of work done on it already, but it's still got a bit.

I used 17 books for WB and got 5 skill ups, which I'm now 1 skill away from maxing him out. I think I'm going to try to max Hina as soon as I'm done with him.

Edit: Version 3.0 is coming out early November.

The skill books for the next Halloween fortnight are really good: Rayleigh, Jozu (more Doffy prep!), Marco (rip empty box space), Ace, Impact Usopp (in case you didn't get him sub 15 for Zephyr), Bellamy, Mr. 9, and Dorry aka more Broggy books.

I'd farm Bellamy but I don't want to waste the stamina when I could be getting all these books.

Terrible skill books because it's either that I already maxed them or that I don't have the characters.

In other news early November we get the 3.0 update with rankings! (Maybe more box space, too?) At this rate we should get sockets in January? Simultaneous release with the kimono fortnight?

10 Mihawks for 4 skillups, 4 Absaloms for 0, and 15 Peronas for 3. Woo. G3 Luffy and Bon Clay are maxed now, though, at least.

Also, it's been over a week into the halloween Strawhats event and I've only gotten 1 Whitebeard book to show for it.

Hmm, the books for Halloween Pt.2 are different than I expected, they didn't use the other half of the Kimono books. But then, they basically replaced books like Goldenweek and Mr. Prince with Marco and Jozu, so I think I'm good with it.

I want to max Marco and Halloween Zoro, so it looks like I'll be going nuts with this one. In fact, we're getting a lot of chances for Marco books with this, Duck Squad, and Lucci's return all a few weeks from each other.

Ivankov would have been much better if they just added a "freely move orbs twice" or something like that to the captain skill. Without it, he is a 3 people manipulator combo (which isn't good, since you can't bring those 3, orb locker, orb booster, a good lead...)

Yeaaaaaah them rankings are coming! I think they'll add a bit of life to the OT.

My Zeff might be useful again thanks to this thing.

Mmmmmm... Weird. Brook had Impact Usopp books I think. Wonder if they're going to mess with the books really often from now on.

Which wouldn't be a problem as long as I get god Usopp books soon.

if I remember correctly the world ranking is a fixed stage (changes weekly?) that you have to complete as fast as you can with units as cheap as you can, and you get rewards based on your position.. the rewards are the one in the image? turtles, cotton candy etc?

I wouldn't necessarily take it that they're going to switch up the books in the normal progression of fortnights only because those were designed with available story characters in mind according to when they are released.

If anything I'd hope this means we can look forward to worldwide fortnights based around holidays or events and I'm sure they'll just throw in desirable skill books as a way of celebrating. They've been basing their special fortnights around the color spreads so they could wind up being pretty cool.

We already got these versions of the strawhats:

So we could potentially see some interesting themed strawhats:

Christmas/Winter Strawhats

Country theme Strawhats

Super Strawhats

There are different challenges. Last week challenge was hitting over 50k more than 40(?) times for the 3gems. There is also hitting over X amount in one turn and others I don't remember.

The challenge last a week and there is a new one every two weeks, but returned fortnight only stay for a week in Japan.

Rewards are candy, elder and gems.

Maxed Hina! Got Nami to 8 turns CD. I won't max her yet though. Not I'll go back to Strawhats.

I love when authors do covers where they mix their style with traditional Japanese drawing. In fact, one of the reasons why Nuraryhion no Mago is one of my favorite series is because of its awesome drawing, which often uses that kind of style.

Thanks for the explanation. Some would be a bit more tricky (the ones that need over X damage will be really complicated for non G3 players, but I can't wait for them to arrive.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
The game could use some kind of indicator telling you if you already found all Snails for that day.

no shit.
but yu don't always have all the snails at first try..and then you come back to the game after hours of work and you may not remember how many you already did.
Yeah an indicator wouldn't hurt just like we got for the Friend Treasure Game. Having to scroll through all the Islands if I'm not sure how much I got can be tedious.

Halloween Books for next week are awesome! I need Rayleigh, Marco, Jozu, Impact Usopp, and probably more from that list. I'm scared. Kinda wish the skill up was next week now. There's no way I can wait another 7 weeks though, so it's gonna be YOLO book time.

Well, I got one more Hina skill up, so she's at 7, but she simply refuses to drop. I did a 30 and only got 2 drops for the entire run, both fodder.

Think I'm gonna switch back to the Halloween one now that I have a use for Law skillbooks. Part of me wishes I'd kept all the ones I got before the sugofest, but I keep it real etc
