Wow, Adam: that was a powerful piece. ;__;7

They like to blame mental disorders as a scapegoat. Not that most mentally unstable people are dangerous compared to angry young men who are sexually frustrated. Statistically they are a the most likely risk factor for everyones safety.

I saw some comments saying the shooter was Bipolar. If that is true I imagine the GOP will use it as a scapegoat to deflect away from guns.

USAToday had a article on it regarding the abuse against his exwife;

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2016/06/12/ex-wife-orlando-shooter/85808768/

Any time the GOP attempts to deflect to mental health for any reason it fills me with a deep rage, considering how much harm they have done to the mentally ill over the years: between denying the mentally ill healthcare and disparaging therapy in favor of repression and bootstraps, I know it is hollow rhetoric from them.

Judging by that description, the shooter is not bipolar. Bipolar disorder is characterized by the presence of manic episodes and major depressive episodes - it's a common misconception that people who are violent or quick to anger are "bipolar". The GOP had better not try to say that the real problem was that the killer was "bipolar", or I will be upset.

I don't usually think that people who have different views from myself are to be hated as they usually have their own life experences and beliefs that dictated their life but Rick Scott really is a human piece of trash.

What is good about him is that every time I feel constipated and cannot poop, I just think of Scott and there it goess. Thanks Rick Scott!

Nearly every other politician Republican or Democrat in Florida yesterday was talking about how this was an attack on the lgbtq community whom are a part of this country.

How he can stand there and try to make it sound like it doesn't matter is sick. It matters to him when he wants to let employers fire people for being gay, ban them from getting health care for being gay, ban them from bathrooms because clearly Rick Scott is going to get hit on in a bathroom with his depressed Mr Clean look.

Go Fuck yourself. Saying it was an attack on a ethnic/cultural/or sensuality based population in America doesn't make them any less American.

God Damn everyone fucking loves the way it like it is politician so you decide to get all quiet when describing who the population is getting attacked?

The amount of times "Husband murders entire family" shows up on this is fucking horrifying.

https://www.massshootingtracker.org/data

It's like we can't go one week without some dude shooting up his entire family.

This site does show that the majority of mass shootings are either gang or domestic violence which should probably be brought up more.
Gang violence only gets brought up when a new monthly bodycount record is broken or Spike Lee decides he's gonna skip the knicks game for 2 days and use his iPhone to film a movie.

Apparently Julian Assange is going to release more Clinton emails.
However, as the article points out, Julian has an unnatural hate of Hillary (Like claiming Google is conspiring with Clinton, without a single bit of evidence), so who knows what is actually in them.

It really bugs me that "accused rapist and fugitive from justice" is not more prominent in articles about Assange.

Pretty sure I read a long time ago that gun bans have never significantly reduced murder rates in countries that tried it. Can anyone speak to the validity of that statement?

So, with these news updates, I think the solution is clear: it's time to temporarily ban all gay people from entering the US until we can figure out what's going on.

This doesn't exactly speak to your question, like I guess if you really wanted to you could make an argument that gun quantity is not necessarily related to gun bans, but I find the evidence pretty compelling.

Trump and some media sources jumped to conclusions about this event way to quicky.

Also around 4 million ballots have been counted on the dem side i the california primary so far. Another million to go probably still.

Trump is a massive pile of shit

This guy's hate mongering has gone past the point of no return. How any of his behavior would be viewed as presidential is mind-boggling.

I'm still livid at that "speech" that he made yesterday that was just full of conspiracy theories. The press needs to stop publicizing this guy's hate. I know CNN is routinely calling him out for his bullshit in every story they write nowadays so thats a start.

Even with the supposed new filtering, r/the_donald content is still a solid 50% of r/all. I'd reeeeeeally love to see a venn diagram of subscribers there versus those from the banned MRA subs last year and other alt-right stuff like Gamergate. Reddit is going to need to take a more firm stance on this since the new formula or whatever clearly isn't cutting it.

Same. Really a pet peeve of mine and I have to keep my mouth shut if he ever comes up in conversation. Like, hey, look, he's a political martyr! How awesome! The internet legend! The same way Snowden decided he'd run off to be protected by Putin. "Accused rapist hiding like a coward in a random embassy" and "fugitive from justice in hiding scared to have his day in court" don't quite have the same ring to them. If they ever made news outside internet conspiracy circles I have a feeling it would come up more, however.

Though I admit there's some personal bias for varied reasons, "accused rapist too scared to face charges" is an automatic DQ in terms of having any respect for someone for me. They could be a Nobel Peace Prize winner or pulled off something unimaginably badass like going to Syria and single-handedly killing every member of ISIS in hand-to-hand combat and I'd still hate them. You cowardly piece of shit. Face your charges if there's a warrant out for you.

I hope he get slaughtered on this. A desire to feed paranoia that boosts his campaign versus the actual possibility of a apparent self-hating gay man who just happened to have watched some jihadist videos in his spare time... Who was born in the US, so even theoretically banning incoming muslims wouldn't have done a damn thing to prevent this. Gun control or other measures actually trying to make a difference? Pfft! Who needs that shit when you can fear-monger even more?

Suikoguy

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions

Now you are thinking like a Trumpster Fire!

I think what should concern people is what Trump will do when things inevitably don't go his way as President. What happens when the muslim ban is in place and something bad still happens? What happens when the economy isn't doing well and he's blamed for it? What happens if his re-election is coming up and it looks like he will lose?

It would be foolish to expect members of his own party in Congress to stand up to him either because they need his die hard supporters to vote for them. They would go along with any crazy idea he proposes if they were threatened enough.

New Survey Monkey/NBC poll (+/- 1.4%):
Clinton 49
Trump 42

Clinton's gains over the past two weeks in the tracking poll are coming from increases in support among moderates, men and white voters. She narrowed Trump's margin among men and white voters from double digits in last week's poll to single digits this week. Clinton picked up 7 points among moderate voters this week and now leads Trump 58 percent to 33 percent among them.

Trump's margin among male voters dropped from 14 points last week to 9 points this week and he now leads Clinton 51 percent to 42 percent. His 13-point margin among white voters last week also shrank to 9 points this week. White voters now favor Trump to Clinton 50 percent to 41 percent.

w/ LOL parties:
Clinton 42
Trump 38
Johnson 9
Stein 5

49-42 is about where I could see the margin settling at in Nov.

With polling post-Orlando, you'd hope that Trump's words these past few days have done him no good with voters, but somehow I'm not convinced he's been hurt.

Well the post-Orlando polling hasn't solidified yet. Not enough time has passed.

If Bernie gets out of the way I think her lead can increase. Assuming Russia doesn't fuck things up.

Traditionally you'd expect to see a GOP politician get a bump after a terrorist attack. That Trump isn't showing any sign of that I would argue shows that he's hurt himself with his recent actions.
