I didn't say marketing deals on their own are retarded. Having a deal but acting as if it didn't exist (not promoting the game, not limiting your competitor's association with the game in any way, etc.) like Paul Tassi implies, now that would be retarded.

If we ever get proof that this wasn’t the case, then everyone in the industry who claimed it was should leave, including the guy at Microsoft who made the claim. Some neutral sources might even implicate me as well—you never know. But as it stands, this sounds and smells like nonsense.

Honestly jez and tassi are usually so anti sony that they are easily dismissable, not much left beside for this rumor, and a guy however reliable may he be saying "I think I know who their source is and if it is it's iron clad" is not reliable either.
Honestly as much as it pains me to say it because he is usually wrong on most "leaks" I think the shpeshal nick's theory seems pretty plausible so far and would explain the confusion .
Confusion that a quality journalist should be able to dissipate but if jez and Tassi were good journalists we'd know by now.

Honestly, the more I hear about this story, the more I feel something is just lost in translation here with the conflicting reports. I still don't feel like Sony money hatted the game, no evidence points to that outside of "sources". But just wondering if sony got involved to just help with the performance on PS5 and to maybe not cause a delay like the Xbox version had. Like maybe they just had xdev or some support studio help out with optimization and to make sure it launched the same day as PC still. Just a random guess but seems logical from my view point.

Edit - Didn't see Shepsel pretty already said what I did, missed that through the thread. But yea, that still seems like the best bet imo.

Well I'll eat crow if it turns out to be the other way and Paul Tassi/Jez cordons career can be over.

The only thing then that is the issue is we are accepting that that shapeshill Nick is reliable.

Jeff grubb can be hit or miss so he could be right.

I think you'll find I said it would come to ps plus within 3 months. But, now I'm convinced that it will be dead within 3 months.

I think if it doesn't survive past 3 months, I still win? I was saying it would be such a failure that they will put it on ps+ to try save players.

I don't think anyone could expect a game to perform as badly as Sonys latest and greatest.

I did trust the studio but I also sometimes trust when shady shit like this can happen in the world.

We will find out which way it goes.

Either way it's a win for us, because Paul Tassi should be out of a job if what he is reporting isn't true. You don't post something like this unless you are 100% sure.

These kind of shady shit you always believe them coming from sony never the others though, like I never saw you throwing a tamper tantrum when xbox does this (like look at Naraka) but when sony allegedly prevent a game coming to Xbox when as you said you already have it why being so emotionnal ?

What shady shit from Microsoft on a high profile game that was touted as coming to playstation then pulled a month or 2 from launch?

Buying studios and cutting off contebt is wack. But you are literally buying the studio, paying for all the employees wages etc.

If this is true, and I say if. Going to a studio 2 months before launch and dumping cash to stop the release on another platform and then not come out and own it is some straight up dodgy lying to consumers shady shit.

You're free to choose you're moral side and what you are cool with.

Considering we have "journalists" claiming separate things, we should encourage them to put their careers on the line. It would be one way of cleaning up the awful games journalism pool. If I never had to hear Paul Tassi, Jez Corden or Jeff Grubb ever again, I'd die happy.

I have no idea what's going on any more. Reasons for this game not coming to Xbox:

1. It's a PS5 exclusive
2. It's a timed PS5 exclusive
3. There's a memory leak affecting all Xbox consoles, to the point where it crashes the OS
4. The Series S can't run the game (for once, I'm calling BS on this)
5. The game is still being optimised for Xbox
6. The lead developer's cat is asleep on his keyboard, and you're not allowed to move sleeping cats

And most thing seems to point that it hasn't happenned with BMW either but here you are dismissing the shit from MS and accusing sony for rumors that seems stupid.Nobody here has explained why sony wouldn't advertize it as being a timed exclusive.

The only explanation would be that it runs like shit on ps5 and it's a dodgy last minute deal that they knew would cause more damage to their brand announcing it and flaunting it as an exclusive when they moneyhatted it 2 months before launch due to a weak line up this year.

That could be true or it has a massive chance of all being bullshit and if it is someone better lose their job.

I just hope that this has forced someone's hand to actually push for these answers like they do with other games like stalker 2.

You are taking talking points from Jizz who claimed in December that no Xbox First Party games were coming to Playstation. Yeah, great journalistic work when using sources within Xbox. Now we should believe him when the Xbox fanboy uses sources outside MS?

IGN who have shown their hand to hate Wukong would of course be open to slandering the devs for lying. IGN have a known history of making up stories for their own gain.



When we see journalists without a history of shilling claim something, wake me up. Western games media hates Chinese games for whatever reason. I'm guessing that the Chinese developers don't blow smoke up the arses of the likes of Parris by giving him a free yellow chair. Or maybe they hate the fact they would have to learn another language to discuss the games, so leaked sources flatlines.

The thing I think you don't understand and why you are so focus on the 2 months part...If the game failed Xbox certification it is likely close to the release date, unlike secret timed exclusives for no reasons.
And dude weak line up ? Xbox has had Hellblade 2 this year that's it and doesn't have a killer line up coming for the rest of the year don't be delusional sony has no problem this year.

As to the subject, “come together” is more kumbaya talk. If some of us are wrong, so be it. Life goes on and it damn sure ain’t that serious. But, because we have a response from the dev vs blabber from a known liar, it’s a wonder anyone would even listen to him and that is why there is so much pushback. That and there’s not a shred of hard sources to corroborate some alleged “deal”.

Until actual proof is shown, I'm still at believing what the devs said about working on the Xbox release. Adding to that, Sony made no effort to advertise the game or claim it as a console exclusive in any form whatsoever. To me, the "shady shit" is Tassi using a 'trust me, bro' source to claim otherwise. As well, IGN is a lost cause when it comes to this game so they can be safely disregarded. Either way, I'll have no problem changing my stance if substantiated information comes along - same as most people, I'd reckon.

And the other source that IGN heard from? And Jez and the Microsoft statement which strongly alluded to a exclusive deal? And the no denial from either Sony or the developer, either could easily come out and dismiss the growing rumours stone cold, but their silence is deafening.

I'm not expecting common sense from someone who writes Phil Spender but maybe ask your parents for guidance on the matter?
