No, they give you an in game item that will instantly level any character to 25. The old content was fun and worth playing but if you want to skip the option is there.

I can ask at CEX but I only re-downloaded a recent update for Destiny and I really don't want to re-download a crapton of stuff all day again. But thanks for answering my questions!

So I got Destiny at launch and never made it through the campaign. I have TTK and would like to start playing more. At this point do I level up playing through the campaign (keep in mind the campaign is boring as crap to me) or do I do something else? How do I "get current" these days?

I was in the same boat. About 3 weeks back, I got into the game and I leveled up pretty quickly. I'm at 40 already, with a good amount of light. I got a few missions into the main campaign, then I started running bounties and crucible missions. Vanguard bounties will rank you quickly.

Everything has been questified, so it's a lot easier to keep track of missions and bounties. It's pretty easy to get current.

Nope. You can however turn Marks into them though. Lots and lots of marks.

I just counted the number of new Missions available on TTK (I'm not talking about Journeys). There are a total of 18 new missions to do, that's really impressive. It starts on Fobos at Level 25 and ends on the Dreadnought at Level 41 (280 light recommended). Good job Bungie!

Why cant you store them in the vault? When in the vault screen push the "start" button and then choose the things you want to put in the vault.

Yeah they are test weapons, do the test data bounty on it for gunsmith rep and you can dismantle it after.

Lol, yeah you need to be 38 to use them, not sure if you can grab them at low level.

-Edit- Okay read some of your previous posts, just dismantle them. They are useless for you until you hit 38, then you can use them and test them out for weaponsmith reputation.

For Faction, just browse their wares and decide which one you like best. I picked Dead Orbit on my Hunter because I want their shaders and their gear looks sexy to me, so that was an easy choice.

It was based on your level and not play time before the patch. You had to be 30. I was 28 and missed out too despite having a bunch of time in the vanilla game. I just never got good drops to level my light up and couldn't do the raid.

I got 12 separate quest lines upon completion of the story, so there's definitely more.

Yeah makes no sense that they'd allow level 5 guys who haven't done anything to test these weapons. I don't want to dismantle and then be screwed for when I am level 38 and need them.

It was a blue level gun in the vanilla game. Converted to legendary after the patch. Why would there be a blueprint?

There's only blueprints for exotic weapons.

I am *considering* giving it another shot, but I only own vanilla. No expansions at all. If I go and start a new character, is the experience going to be any different? Or is vanilla still identical to how it was before?

Likewise, if I purchased taken king, would I be getting a different level 1 experience?

The changes to the campaign are tied to the 2.0 update, so you could experience the new things without owning TTK.
