You clearly haven’t seen the Patreon video nor actually watched any of the videos where they discuss PSSR and the new hardware.Very positive videos. DF have always very positive about ps5 pro in particular that is known by everyone/s

Alan Wake 2 is a turd technically? lolTo complain about the price is fair game, but the conjectures throughout these threads regarding the capability of the console is ignorance at best.
I don’t think the PS5 Pro has the ability to polish turds.
To be honest I’m a bit bored. Went to bed and can’t fall asleep. His mind is made up and it’s all confirmation bias. Why waste your time with him?
Ah yes, Only their most recent non public video counts. /sYou clearly haven’t seen the Patreon video nor actually watched any of the videos where they discuss PSSR and the new hardware.
$1500+ PCs struggle with 1440p on Alan Wake 2. It doesn't even have a native resolution option. You have to use a form of upscaling to hit resolutions. It's not your typical pick your res and settings and off you go.Sub 1080p on a $700+ console in 2024. Incredible.
That's maxed out with path tracing on, a very different kettle of fish.$1500+ PCs struggle with 1440p on Alan Wake 2.
Yes it does lol, it has DLAAIt doesn't even have a native resolution option.
Are they?

The cost is in miliseconds - the framerate is just math from the time it took to compute a frame (in miliseconds). Eg. 100fps = 10ms per frame. Add/remove 2ms and you get 80/125fpsAny bench to prove that it cost something like 20 FPS at 100?
I didn't say it was, but the video shows the frametimes, and in the comparable shots that are held static for long enough, the delta beween native/DLAA is at least 2ms.Because the video I linked are nowhere close to 40FPS
45% raster improvement is not tiny, but it's not magic either.45% rasterisation improvement.
it is a tiny jump and people need to finally understand this.
PSSR is the main thing that will improve the subjective image clarity
DIY sales are a small fraction of the market, the vast majority are prebuilts and laptopsIt is worth remembering that most users come from China and cyber cafes are still very popular there. And in those places, they use mid-low GPUs, because most people play MOBAs and MMOs.
I think an interesting comparison is to look at the sales of a PC store:

1) It's the performance mode. How does the CPU affect pixel count in a mode that is already 60fps?people need to realize this is not going to get better while sitll limited byt the same crappy cpu. 840p LMFAO
45% raster improvement is not tiny, but it's not magic either.
Problem is that we now know ~75% of PS5 owners play in performance mode, which means resolutions of 1080p and lower for a lot of games... so a lot of people on PC are probably playing with better IQ and framerates than PS5 due to DLSS regardless. Are you sure? What tier is above PS5? A lot of people here still probably on 12GB 3060 hardware or less. Without a poll for most active users showing we don't conform with the Steam survey, it is just an unfounded claim, no?

I think a small snapshot isn't much to go on and is this information verifiedSo ya think DF are lying or?
Absolutely. And neither cost 700 bucks. This thing is absurd. I hope it bombs.tiny in this case is of course relative. compare that to ~110% and ~500% of the PS4 Pro and One X respectively, and it is tiny.
Just give it up framerate warriors, you will never win.
30FPS consoles 4L.
at least you've graduated from 720p though

He's right. Image quality is way more important resolution.
High-Ultra graphics at 1080p with DLAA: 60-70fps
The PS3s problem was entirely the price, it was $1,000 here on launch and they got smashed by the 360 for that reason solely and being late to launch.Call me stupid then cuz i have no problem with it.
I will get my monies worth i know for a fact.
The ps3's problem wasnt just the price but the lack of games or quality of games compared to the 360. It was not worth to buy at least for a year. Thats when i bought it.
The teraflops discussion during 2020 would've given you brain damage if you think this is bad.I would think Gaf members would better understand what AI upscaling is.. I’ve read so many cluess comments here that I really don’t know if they are trolling or being just ignorant..
People want the PS5 Pro to do 4K60fps without PSSR but look how the best possible PC does with Native 1080p in this game
I don't think he confirm anything. Alan wake is known for heavy on GPU, so low internal resolution is to be expected. This is with path tracing. PS5 Pro version doesn't seem to use RT in 60fps mode.
Pretty much confirms this resolution...

If anything, this post reassure people that image quality will be fine on the Pro.
Now, how do they do that? obviously, sub 1080p up scale is not optimal, so Increase res is the only way. My guess is the final internal res will be somewhat close to 1080p, and I don't think it hard to achieve it. As for the suprise, maybe path tracing at 30 fps?

That is totally incorrect though.
It's pixel counted at around 840p native, not the final resolution with PSSR.
PS4/XB1 APU 28nm wafer@ $2300/waferAbsolutely. And neither cost 700 bucks. This thing is absurd. I hope it bombs.
I can't really comment on Alan Wake 2 and what it looks like running of PS5 Pro, but I doubt Developers are going to push higher resolution then they need to, a 1080p or even 1440p render may not make any difference in the end result.I would think Gaf members would better understand what AI upscaling is..
