I want a Layton hat. ;_;
Well, here are my favorite purchases of 2008, so far. I don't think I posted some of these pictures in the previous threads, so here it goes.
adidas Stan Smith (White/Navy) - I've always been a big adidas fan and I needed some new white kicks to replace my K-Swiss that I had. These shoes go great with any outfit; be it jeans, denim, shorts, whatever. I bought these in February and they're starting to wear out due to my excessive use of them. I usually rotate between my other pair of shoes but these get the most mileage, aside from my dress shoes that I have to wear to work.
Canon Digital Rebel XTi w/EF-S 18-55mm kit lens (Silver) - This was the first thing that I bought with my tax return. I wanted to step my game up by getting a DSLR, an upgrade from the Canon SD1000 P&S that I was using. I mainly purchased this so that I can take decent pictures when it came time for my aunt's wedding. I was surprised how well my camera did with my lackluster performance in photography (
My Flickr). I've bought quite a few books, a 50mm f/1.8 lens and not much else since I'm still learning. The past few weeks, however, I haven't been shooting as often as I'd like to. Maybe that'll change with the new year.
Men's and Women's Schwinn Cruiser SS (Blue/White) - I bought the girlfriend and I matching bikes for our birthdays. Our birthdays are only three days apart and I always splurge a little more than I should when it comes to gifts for myself or her. In the picture, my bike is in the front while her's is in the back. That picture was taken the same day we rode it in the park. I had to keep the bike a secret from her before I finally revealed it to her on her birthday. Trust me, it's not easy hiding a bike, let alone two, in an apartment for two weeks when you practically live with the person you're going to give it to.
Caricature from Santa Cruz/Beach Boardwalk - I was never one to jump at the opportunity for someone who would put pen-to-paper and make fun of my facial features...with a few people looking on while they laugh as he drew. My girlfriend convinced me to do one and I was surprised how well it turned out. Now, I want to get one done whenever I get the chance to do so. What bummed me out was that I went to Vegas twice after my trip to Santa Cruz but wasn't able to spot any caricature artists during our stay there. I wasn't going to go out of my way to find one... *sigh* Next time.
K.O.G. Mother 3 "Emergency" T-shirt - One of my favorite shirts I purchased this year. This is the most I've ever spent on a t-shirt (~$70 after tax/shipping) and I don't think I'm going to top that any time soon.
