Lightning Returns: FINAL FANTASY XIII (Steam) releases December 10th, supports 60 FPS

if i remember they also did this with 13-2 for some reason you couldnt preorder it till like 7 days before release.

I'm not sure. If I remember correctly I preordered FFXIII-2 as soon as it was available and then got pissed becaure there was a better discount code for GMG.

My FFXIII collection will be complete. One day I will play them all.

Yeah, one day.

One day.

one dayy~~~~~

It's never too late.

No price still?

I guess we'll be able to preorder the game from tomorrow (-7 days). Some have suggested that they'll try to wait as long as possible and so far that's what they're doing.

It will probably be priced 15,99 € (19,99 $) because that's what it was priced on GMG on the announcement day.

Key functionality features of LR:FFXIII
Supports graphics options intended for high-end PCs:
- Rendering resolution
- Scaling of the display area
- Shadow processing
- Texture filters
- Color correction
- Depth of field
- Lighting
- Glare
Supports full screen and windowed display modes
Supports a maximum frame rate of 60fps
Supports Full HD display with a maximum resolution of 1920x1080

Resolution locked. XIII and XIII-2 at least went up to 4K

Still waiting for a patch to fix the first two.
(And a patch to add an ACTUAL full screen mode to Type-0 so we can get proper Vsync and any Vsync at all on Windows 7. Because it's borderless windowed. Adding arbitrary resolution support would be nice too.)
1080p max? YEAH. That seems like a good decision for future proofing your game to be playable in a few years when resolutions beyond 1080p are the most popular. (Let alone the thousands out there with higher resolution monitors/TVs already!)
Seems you have a like minded friend with TecmoKoei who is just as incompetent. DQH is locked to 1080p too.

Until then, SE you are not getting crap from me.

And it seems that will be the way until the forseeable future. WHY anyone wants FFXV on PC at this point is utterly baffling with how little a fuck they give if they can't milk money out of you in subscription fees monthly. (XI/XIV/DQX)

How hard is it to correct such basic features and problems?

FFS even with all of it's problems(Like a similar lack of any AR support other than 16:9) Tales of Zestiria even supports arbitrary resolutions.
This isn't the console space. Things are not homogeneous.

Nice to see them adding more options. I'd love to see them go back to the previous 2 game and patch them from time to time.

Because it would still be the best option ?

Hooooooo boy. And just after D gave Square and Tecmo a thorough thrashing over DQHeroes.

Won't be surprised if that's his breaking point that finally drives him mad. I'll be thoroughly surprised if it isn't. He's been doing his part for YEARS now and it seems the only ones who listened are the ones who don't have enough clout to influence the big fuckups with their good examples.

It's like, Square and Tecmo are deliberately ignoring not only him at this point, but in Square's case outright regressing. They really just need to sit back, and do what Sega does (Hell, what Square's own western branches do!) by outsourcing ports to a studio that knows the PC space. Surely Nixxes is available for more than just Eidos Montreal, right?

Hows about you stream they game you're about to release there fellas. Let us see if "supports 60 FPS" means more than "Some random scenes will be 60, others 30"

I like the sharpness of the visuals but you can tell they arent doing a lot of remaster work. I just hope at this point the framerate is good. Never played ps3 but heard it was a mess.

Because pretty much all the areas are new, so are most of the assets, and because of the low budget (compared to the previous games) and rushed timeframe, this is what we're left with.

On PS3 the game is a real stepdown in visuals and performance compared to XIII and XIII-2.

It may have been mentioned earlier on the thread but, the game is not going to be available to buy until the 10th?
