Destiny |OT32| Driviks and Draksis (Spoiler Tag ALL Raid Discussion)

Telesto is the best special weapon in the game. Supercell sucks on bosses, but I guess it is good for killing adds...

Only time I liked Telesto was during the nightfall because the void burn perk was on. Other than that people would just smerk at me when I'd shoot them with Telesto in PvP then turn around and blast me in the face. Speaking of good for adds, that's about all Telesto is good for unless there is a burn or specialist modifier on.

I've seen it posted several times now, but it should be noted that the info in Rasputin #5 is detailing
a contingency plan for if the traveler tries to leave. There's no proof one way or the other yet if he had to activate that plan, though they seem to be leaning that way.

Many things in the writeup are based on inductions and inferences. It's a good body of work overall, but in the fullness of time, we may discover the author was massively wrong about several things.

I was raging in Crucible until I went back to my old buddy, Thorn. Everyone thinks it was nerfed, the thing is still a fucking beast, but shhh don't let too many people know. Hopefully everyone sharded it after the nerf notes.

Yeah, Thorn feels nearly as good to me as it always did. The damage drop-off is there but doesn't feel as severe as it does on TLW and Hawkmoon. In regular Crucible it is still very strong.

All of that said, I look forward to Iron Banner where Y1 weapons will no longer be viable (they better not be viable). Thorn doesn't irk me nearly as badly as the perfect roll shotguns so any PVP mode where those don't work well will be ok with me.

Man unlocking the PVP weeklies just sucks.
Who thought this was a good idea? It takes so long and i'm still going to have to go through the whole chain two more times for my hunter and titan.

I'm pretty sure bungie said the TTK was designed to "encourage" players to stick to one toon. Surprised people are determined to ignore that warning and grind through three characters anyway.

Agreed, I just wanted to mention that one though since I've seen a lot of people take it as fact that it did happen, not might have.

Telesto have been awful for me in pvp, yes.
Best case scenario I would it my opponent clean, they would kill me before the needles exploded, and I would get the trade and a post mortem medal.

They made it easier to compete with one, as far as progression and everything. Still, as a one character player, I feel like I'm missing out in a few ways:

  1. I'm stuck with my void sword.
  2. One nightfall per week. Per always.

I guess that's really it..

you have a doppleganger

and its really just the ones he gives you. havnt seen any others, you get one at 2, one at 3, and were are waiting for next week to find out what happens for rank 4.

Had a database error when I posted and it went in twice.

So desperate to get to rank 3 of gunsmith. 100 points away and I think I connected all of the 4 relic rep drops :(

Yep pretty much, the grind is real in TTK. I deleted my other two characters last night, I really can't be arsed doing all these quests again. FIFA is out so I need to get started on that anyway, though I've heard terrible things about it, so I might just get PES instead.

even still the quest is just bad you get low rewards to unlock weekly stuff on the pve side you sure don't have to do anything like that for the nightfall.
None of the PVE quest are like that so why is the main pvp quest this way?

what bungie said also is not even true so bringing that up does not help that case.

I've got a question for the raid veterans. I'm at 296 and planning on doing the raid this weekend for the first time. I have a blue rocket launcher that's 297, but doesn't have tracking, I have a thunderlord at 290 and a Truth at 289. Should I infuse one of those, or just keep using the blue rocket launcher? If I lose any light in infusion, I'm down to 295. I feel pretty comfortable that I'm ready for the raid, just trying to see what would be the most helpful.

I'm okay with a special weapon that has a more limited role, but it's harder for me to accept my primary weapon being limited that way. Telesto shreds nearly everything in PvE. PvP is a different story. I've had some pretty good success with it, but you can't treat it like a normal fusion rifle. Time will tell how it ultimately fares in PvP, bc it's too soon to say for sure, but I think it's going to become a favored weapon by players. Lot of folks said how much the old hand cannons sucked at release as well.

Geez. I haven't looked into lore stuff since I quit the game a while back, but I thought that the Grimore "Ghost Fragment: Mysteries" implied that
Rasputin saw the Traveler defeated because it was trying to protect, while he survived even though he was weaker then the Traveler because he did not. I assumed it was because he dropped his defenses and hid himself, but him attacking the traveler before hiding makes just as much sense. As it would have prevented the traveler from fleeing, thus leaving something behind that would protect. All that and the relation to the Fallen is very interesting indeed. If it's all true then I wounder what the purpose of sending out the Ghosts was.

I still really wish Grimores were in game. There are a bunch of them that are directly connected to what you are doing/story stuff that is happening when you get them, and they lose that if you have to go back and read them later.
